Speaker of Arab Parliament Commends Saudi and Emirati Initiatives Concerning Sudanese People

Speaker of Arab Parliament Adel Al-Asoomi has commended the noble humanitarian initiative of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister instructing the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) to provide humanitarian aid worth $100 million and organise a fundraising campaign through the Sahem platform to the benefit of the Sudanese people during the current crisis.

In a statement today, Al-Asoomi also commended the humanitarian and relief aid and medical supplies sent by the United Arab Emirates, in cooperation with WHO, to the Sudanese people, calling on the international community and donors to expedite the delivery of humanitarian assistance to the Sudanese people to alleviate their suffering and difficult living conditions.

Al-Asoomi stressed the need to provide urgent medical aid to the Sudanese people, especially in view of the fact that more than half of the hospitals in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, were shut down.
