Strategic Consultations Committee between Oman, Iran Holds 10th Meeting


The Strategic Consultations Committee between the Sultanate of Oman and the Islamic Republic of Iran held its 10th meeting in Tehran today.

The Omani side was chaired by Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs, while the Iranian side was chaired by Ali Bagheri, Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs.

The two sides discussed means of enhancing bilateral cooperation in the economic, consular, cultural, and maritime security fields, as well as encouraging investment and tourism exchanges, and addressing the obstacles they face in a manner that serves the joint interests of the two countries.

They also exchanged views on a set of regional and international issues of common concern. In this context, they reiterated their call to the international community to stop the Israeli genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza Strip, work on an immediate ceasefire, lift the siege imposed on the Gaza Strip, provide humanitarian needs, and hold Israel accounta
ble for its continued violations of international law and international humanitarian law.

The meeting was attended by a number of officials from the foreign ministries of the two countries
