Together – Tens of thousands of school students in the West Bank and shelter centers in the Gaza Strip participated in beating the drums to protect education in Gaza. This came on the occasion of the Global Action Week for Education, which designated April 23 as an international day of commitment to protect education in the Gaza Strip.
The activities of the Global Action Week for Education were launched this year on April 22, 2024 in Palestine and the world. This year was distinguished by the opening of the week by the Prime Minister, Dr. Muhammad Mustafa, the head of the Global Campaign for Learning, Dr. Rifaat Al-Sabah, and the Minister of Education and Higher Education, Dr. Amjad Barham. This year, and in light of the grave challenges and disasters facing the education sector in Palestine, the Palestinian Educational Coalition decided that the status of education in Gaza would be the core of this week and its various activities, taking into account the opportunity This sector in Gaza and the rest of the Palestinian territories has benefited from the concept of ‘transformative education,’ noting that transformative education has become a basis for achieving the goals of the fourth goal of the Sustainable Development Goals around the world, and for intervening to help students and teachers in the Gaza Strip.
