Baghdad US media reported, quoting the authorities, that the number of victims of snow storms in the country reached 64, today, Tuesday.
“This storm is probably the worst the city has seen in more than 50 years,” said Buffalo Mayor, Byron Brown, in an interview with MSNBC.
Thirty-three people were killed in Erie County, New York, which includes the city of Buffalo, despite the measures taken by the authorities.
The Authorities banned movement by car in some areas in light of the record amount of snow.
Officials say snow is hampering relief operations because roads are blocked, as equipment cannot move. Deaths were also recorded in 11 US states.
Severe weather conditions have been in place since the end of last week. The meteorologists indicate that the situation will continue in this way during the current week as well.
