The Media Directorate of the popular mobilization said in a statement, “A force from the Ninth Brigade of the Kirkuk and East Tigris Operations Command of the Popular Mobilization Forces carried out a raid and search operation in Salah al-Din Governorate.” The statement added, “The operation, which included searching the island of Albu Marmous in Salah al-Din and the areas within its responsibility sector, coincides with the approach of the blessed month of Ramadan and within its security plan.” “The operation aims to enhance security and stability and prevent any attempt by the remnants of the terrorist (ISIS) to establish a foothold in these areas,” the statement said.
