President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid congratulated the head of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Pavel Talabani, on the occasion of the (48th) anniversary of the founding of the party.
In his congratulations, the President saluted the leaders and cadres of the party, the families of the martyrs, the Peshmerga and the masses supporting him, recalling the era of the late President Mam Jalal, praising the honorable struggle history of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan for the freedom and democracy of the Iraqi people.
He indicated, according to a statement by his office, that the founding anniversary coincides with a new era in which Iraq and the region are going through many changes in which, more than ever, we need unity and joint action between all political forces and parties in Iraq and the Kurdistan region in order to preserve the achievements and the democratic process in the country.
