Three pilots killed when two US military helicopters crashed in central Alaska

Three pilots were killed when two attack helicopters of the US Army crashed in central Alaska, while they were returning from a training mission.

The army announced, according to news agencies, that the two planes crashed after their participation in military exercises in Alaska, in the second such accident in less than a month.

The army statement quoted the US Army’s 11th Airborne Division as saying that the two Apache helicopters crashed near Hili, Alaska.

He added: The incident is under investigation, and more information will be revealed when it becomes available.

A similar incident occurred in late March, when two US Army Black Hawk helicopters crashed during a training flight in Kentucky, killing all 9 soldiers on board.
