TURKISH, EGYPTIAN FOREIGN MINISTERS HOLD TALKS IN ISTANBUL


Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held extensive talks with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, at the Turkish Foreign Ministry’s office in Istanbul, according to “Russia Today”.

The talks dealt with multiple issues, most notably the escalating tension in the Middle East.

Turkish diplomatic sources reported that Fidan and Shoukry discussed important regional issues, such as Gaza, Libya, the Eastern Mediterranean, Sudan, Ivory Coast, in addition to issues of trade, economy and bilateral investments.

Turkish diplomatic sources reported that the two ministers are expected to discuss preparations for holding the high-level meeting of the Strategic Cooperation Council between the two countries, which will be held with the participation of the two presidents, Turkish Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Egyptian Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
