Under Patronage of Custodian of Two Holy Mosques, Ministry of Islamic Affairs to Organize 24th Competition for King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Award for Holy Quran Memorization, Recitation and Interpretation for Boys, Girls

Riyadh, Under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance will organize the 24th Local Competition for King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Award for the Holy Quran Memorization, Recitation and Interpretation for Boys and Girls for 1444 Hijri with awards totaling SAR3,366,000 for winners of its six branches in Riyadh.

The ceremony to honor boy winners is scheduled to be held on Ramadan 1, 1444 Hijri in Riyadh, while the ceremony to honor girls will be held on Ramadan 2, 1444 Hijri.

On the occasion, Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif Al-Sheikh, Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, the Supervisor General on Local and International Holy Quran Competitions, extended gratitude and appreciation for Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for their support to all initiatives that encourage younger generations to memorize the Holy Quran and instill its values and principles in them.

He stressed that the award is a pillar of goodness and giving that embodies the care of the wise leadership in the Holy Quran throughout its journey that exceeded two decades, in a bid to highlight a bright image of caring in the Holy Quran that constitutes a constitution and an approach for this blessed country.

The minister noted that the care of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and his permanent support to this Holy Quran event over more than 23 years have contributed to its excellence and development and increasing turnout to compete for winning the award.

He pointed out that the current edition of the competition comprises six branches:

First: Readings of memorization of the Holy Quran with good performance and recitation in the seven readings according to Al-Shatibiah and Al-Tayseer.

Second: Memorizing the entire Holy Quran with good performance and recitation and the interpretation of the meanings of the Holy Quran.

Third: Memorizing the entire Holy Quran with good performance and recitation.

Fourth: Memorizing 20 consecutive parts of the Holy Quran with good performance and recitation.

Fifth: Memorizing 10 consecutive parts of the Holy Quran with good performance and recitation.

Sixth: Memorizing 5 consecutive parts of the Holy Quran with good performance and recitation.

The minister said that the boy and girl winners of the first rank will receive SAR250,000 each.

He noted that the ministry has embarked on implementing the Royal order according to the procedures of organizing the competition, where it directed stakeholders to start initial qualifications at all charity associations for memorizing the Holy Quran across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, prior to holding final qualification in next Shaaban.
