President of the University of Bahrain (UoB) Dr. Jawaher Shaheen Al Mudhahka stressed the university’s keenness to provide class and out-of-the-class activities to tap on the students’ creativity and professional talents and hone their skills to groom them for the labour market.
She was speaking as she received at UoB headquarters in Sakhir today a delegation from the US embassy in the Kingdom of Bahrain, led by Professor Dr. Bret Lott, the Director of the the College of Charleston’s Master’s in Fine Arts (MFA) in Creative Writing programme.
Dr. Al Mudhahka praised cooperation with the US embassy and the College of Charleston, which has trained a host of students from UoB in creative writing since2018. She pointed out a number of pogrammes aimed at exploring the students’ talents and developing their creative capabilities.
Dr. Lott commended the students’ efforts and their commitment to developing their linguistic skills in literary arts.
The creative writing programme is co-conducted by UoB, represented by the American Studies Centre, and the College of Charleston in Virginia, the USA.
Both sides discussed academic and training issues of common interest.
