Ways to increase Bahraini-Italian economic cooperation, investments discussed

Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), Sameer Abdulla Nass, has stated that the Bahraini-Italian relations are progressing steadily at all levels, especially in the trade and investment fields.

He affirmed that Italy is a trustworthy strong trade and economic partner to Bahrain, noting that the volume of bilateral trade has increased by 28% in 2022.

Nass made the statements while receiving here today the Italian Ambassador to Bahrain, Paola Amadi, in the presence of the chairpersons of the Italy-Bahrain Business Council, Khalid Rashid Al-Zayani and Ignazio Moncada, in addition to several BCCI members.

BCC chief underlined Bahrain’s keenness to strengthen economic cooperation with Bahrain across various fields, stressing the need to intensify efforts to attract Italian investments to Bahrain, which would lead to increasing the volume of bilateral trade and the tourism movement.

The two sides discussed practical initiatives that could enhance trade relations and increase bilateral investments.

They also reviewed the existing commercial and investment opportunities that in tourism and other major sectors, in addition to the success of Italian companies in Bahrain and Bahraini companies and investments in Italy.

They also agreed to enhance the role of the Italian-Bahraini Business Council.

Ambassador Amadi affirmed her country’s keenness to bolster its friendship relations with Bahrain, citing the steady growth of exchanged investments and bilateral trade, noting that the Bahraini exports to Italy have risen by 124% YoY.

She also expressed her interest in developing the Bahrain-Italy relations to achieve common goals.
