1,000 Zamzam Water Containers Daily Washed, Sterilized to Serve Visitors of Grand Holy Mosque

Makkah, The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Holy Mosque and the Prophet’s Holy Mosque daily washes more than 1,000 Zamzam water containers at the Grand Holy Mosque, in accordance with highest levels of sterilization and disinfection to preserve the safety of visitors of the Mosque.

Director of the Zamzam Watering Department at the Grand Holy Mosque Abdulrahman Al-Zahrani said that the department seeks to keep the containers clean and sterilized, as the washing process goes through five stages, adding that a specific and fragrance-free soap is used. The stages also include the sterilization process and drying and storage stage. Lastly, the containers are transferred in specific cars to the filling points at the Grand Holy Mosque. He concluded that this operation is done inside the Grand Holy Mosque using special equipment.
