Kingdom’s Presidency of ARADO Executive Council Renewed for the Period 2022-2024

Cairo– The General Assembly of the Arab Administrative Development Organization (ARADO), in its 57th session, renewed the presidency of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the organization’s Executive Council for the period 2022-2024.

This came during its meeting held on May 19, 2022, at the organization’s headquarters in Cairo, where also the memberships of the UAE, Sudan, Oman, Kuwait, Egypt, and Morocco were renewed.

The ARADO, which was founded in 1961 as a specialized body affiliated with the Arab League, is aimed at achieving administrative development in the Arab countries, to serve the comprehensive development strategy. The organization directs its efforts and provides its services and programs to the Arab member states of the organization. The renewal process of the presidency and memberships of the Executive Council is carried out with unanimous approval of the member states of the organization during its General Assembly meeting.

GCC Secretary General Meets with Oman’s Minister of Economy on the Sidelines of Davos Forum

Davos–Secretary General of Riyadh-based Guf Cooperation Council (GCC) Dr. Nayef Falah Mubaraj Al-Hajraf met with the Minister of Economy of the Sultanate of Oman Dr. Saeed bin Mohammed Al-Saqri today on the sidelines of Davos Forum in Switzerland.

During the meeting, a number of issues regarding ways to enhance the march of the GCC in all fields, particularly the completion of the requirements of the GCC stock market, and economic integration according to the instructions of the leaders of the organization were discussed.

Jeddah Season Attracts more Tourists and Visitors in Outstanding and Diversified Season

Jeddah– The events of the Jeddah season 2022 continue in Saudi Arabia with a wide range of programs, spectacular shows, and new global experiences spread throughout nine event zones. They witness about 2,800 different recreational, cultural, artistic, and tourist activities.

This year, the activities of the Jeddah season’ zones are distinguished by the diversity of options, catering to all desires and tastes, and attracting many visitors and tourists from outside the Kingdom. Deputy Minister of Education for Universities, Research and Innovation: Saudi Arabia Reviews Scientific, Cultural and Educational Successes in ALECSO Meetings

Riyadh– Deputy Minister of Education for Universities, Research and Innovation Dr. Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Sudairi noted that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has shared its successful scientific, educational and cultural experiences with member states of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) during the 26th session of the General Conference and the meeting of its Executive Council at its 117th session, which are held in Tunisia, in a bid to support goals that can realize good and welfare for the peoples and countries of the region.

In a statement on the sidelines of the 26th meeting, he said that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has reviewed its global successes in applying the remote education model, developing the quality of education, and winning several international awards and patents that enhance the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s competitiveness in the research and scientific field, in addition to winning 22 awards at the 2022 Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair, as well as efforts of increasing awareness and knowledge in the field of data and artificial intelligence and strategies of cultural empowerment to build up capacity, support young talents and protect the endangered cultural heritage at conflict zones.

Education Minister Heads Saudi Arabia’s Delegation to the Education World Forum 2022 in London

London, May 22, 2022, SPA– Minister of Education of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Dr. Hamad bin Mohammed Al Al-Sheikh is scheduled to participate in the Education World Forum 2022 to be held in London, UK, under the theme “Education: building forward together; stronger, bolder, better”, from 22 to 25 May, with the participation of several education ministers from around the world.

Dr. Al Al-Sheikh, who will be heading the Kingdom’s delegation to the forum, is set to deliver Saudi Arabia’s speech focusing on (Learning from Challenges) during the first session of the forum, highlighting Saudi Arabia’s experience in facing the repercussions of the Coronavirus pandemic and reviewing the most prominent features of its success in the e-learning and distance education.

Al-Sheikh’s visit to the UK includes meetings with several of his counterparts and officials including the British Secretary of State for Education Nadhim Zahawi; the Special Representative of the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom for Education Dr. Sir Steve Smith; British Secretary of State at the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy; and head of the British side of the Saudi-British Partnership Council Kwasi Kwarteng.

Yemeni Siamese Twins “Mawaddah and Rahmah” Arrive in Riyadh

Riyadh– In implementation of the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Yemeni Siamese twins “Mawaddah and Rahmah”, arrived in Riyadh today with their parents, coming from Aden Governorate, Yemen, via a medical air-evacuation plane, with support of the Forces of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Upon arrival, they were transferred to King Abdullah Specialist Hospital for Pediatrics, at the Ministry of the National Guard, to study their case and consider subjecting them to a separation surgery.

Digital Cooperation Organization to Lead Davos Digital FDI Discussions

Riyadh– A delegation from the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO) led by Secretary-General Deemah Al-Yahya will attend the World Economic Forum annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland next week to lead discussions around generating prosperity through digital FDI.

The World Economic Forum is a nonprofit organization which brings together global leaders across government and business to discuss the world’s foremost challenges and opportunities. The DCO, which focuses on digital economy initiatives supporting youth, startup entrepreneurs and women, has nine member states with a combined GDP of nearly USD2 trillion and a population of nearly 600 million. With 70 percent of future economic growth set to be digital, the DCO member states provide a valuable market opportunity to investors and entrepreneurs alike.

In Davos, the DCO will sign a major multilateral agreement on the digital economy, with further details to be revealed by the DCO and World Economic Forum at the summit. 75th World Health Assembly Kicks Off in Geneva

Geneva– The 75th World Health Assembly kicked off in Geneva today, under the theme “Health for peace, peace for health”, and it will continue until May 28, 2022. It is the first in-person Health Assembly since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is participating in the works of the World Health Assembly with a delegation headed by Minister of Health Fahd bin Abdulrahman Al-Jalajil.
