Ashour: The Political Process Will Remain At a Crossroads Without the Participation of the Sadrists

Baghdad The expert and strategic researcher Hani Ashour confirmed: “Today’s session… is a step to resolve the political closure.”

He told the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA): “The coming period will witness parliamentary sessions moving towards the completion of the constitutional entitlements through the agreement of the political forces on a comprehensive unified vision for the coming period.”

Ashour added: “The agreement of the political forces remains incomplete without the participation of the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, and the political process will remain at a crossroads if it proceeds without the participation of the Sadrists.”

The House of Representatives resumed its sessions today, in the presence of 240 MPs, by renewing confidence in its speaker, Muhammad al-Halbousi, and electing Mohsen al-Mandalawi for the post of first deputy speaker.
