Baghdad, The Mayor of Baghdad, Ammar Musa directed to set up two giant screens to broadcast the 25th Gulf semi-final match between Iraq and Qatar in Adhamiya.

The Capital Municipality said in a statement: “The Mayor of Baghdad, Ammar Musa Kadhim, directed the Adhamiya Municipality Department to set up two giant screens to display the semi-final match between Iraq and Qatar, which will be held this afternoon within the Gulf 25 in Basra.”

It explained: “The first screen will be in the Adhamiya Corniche area, and the other will be opposite the gardens of the royal cemetery.”

Basra, Thousands of sports fans gathered at the gates of the Basra International Stadium to allow them to enter, despite the stadium being full hours before the match of the Iraqi national team and its Qatari counterpart this afternoon, Monday, within the Gulf Championship 25.

The Iraqi Football Association issued an appeal to the fans around the Basra stadium, to go to the place of the big screens to watch the match and avoid confusion in the organizating the match because the stadium was completely filled 3 hours before the match, and there was no empty place.

Baghdad, Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi discussed with his deputies Mohsen al-Mandalawi and Shakhwan Abdullah the inclusion of completed laws on the agenda of the upcoming sessions.

A statement by Shakhwan Abdullah’s office stated: The meeting discussed the work of the House of Representatives at this stage, and the preparation of a package of draft laws, proposals and amendments in accordance with legislative procedures.

He added: they also discussed to include the completed laws by the parliamentary committees on the agenda in the upcoming sessions.

Baghdad, Prime Minister Muhammad Shia’ al-Sudani affirmed the government’s direction to open horizons of cooperation with friendly and brotherly countries, in a way that secures the interests of the Iraqi people.

He also confirmed, during his meeting with the White House Coordinator for Middle East and North Africa affairs, Brett McGurk, an envoy from US President Joseph Biden, the ability of our security forces to confront terrorism and to establish the stability achieved thanks to the huge sacrifices that were made on the land of Iraq.

For his part, McGurk affirmed his country’s support for the success of the current government, and the continuation of the United States to provide advice to Iraqi forces in their fight against ISIS, reiterating the US Administration’s commitment to the strategic framework agreement, and supporting the Iraqi government’s reforms in the field of energy and infrastructure and confronting climate change.

McGurk conveyed his country’s welcome to the outcomes of the Baghdad Conference / 2, and efforts to develop joint infrastructure projects between Iraq and its surroundings, and its welcome to the upcoming visit of Foreign Minister Mr. Fouad Hussein to Washington to hold meetings of the Higher Coordinating Committee of the Strategic Framework Agreement between the two countries.

A statement by Al-Sudani’s office said that the meeting witnessed discussion of the overall relations between Iraq and the United States, and ways to strengthen and develop them at various levels and fields, in a way that serves the interests of the Iraqi and American peoples.

During his meeting with the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities, Ahmed Fakak Al-Badrani, Abdullah affirmed his full support for the ministry’s efforts and the importance of reviving and preserving heritage, especially that Iraq has an ancient civilization and is distinguished by its cultural diversity.

He called for holding a large cultural and artistic festival to deliver important messages to neighboring countries and the world that there is a state of stability, prosperity and development in the country at all levels.

Oman qualifies for the 25th Gulf Cup final by defeating Bahrain 1-0

Basra, The Omani national team qualified for the 25th Gulf Cup final, with a deserved victory over its Bahraini counterpart, with a goal without a response, in the match that took place this evening at the Olympic Port Stadium within the Arab Gulf 25 Championship.

Jamil Al-Ahmadi managed to score the winning goal in the 85th minute of the match.

With this victory, Oman will meet our national team in the championship final next Thursday.
