Baghdad, The trademap website, which provides a trade map for countries for exports and imports, considered that Iraq’s trade exchange was mostly with four major countries in the year 2022.

The website said in its statistics that “China, Iran, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates were the countries that exchanged the most trade with Iraq during the year 2022,” noting that “the exchange with these countries ranged between 20-50%.”

It added, “India, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, the United States, Germany and Italy were the countries that ranked second in trade exchange with Iraq, with a rate ranging between 1-5 percent.”

It pointed out that “Egypt, Russia, Australia, Canada, most European countries, Brazil and most Asian countries, including Japan, ranked third in trade exchange with Iraq, at a rate of 1%.”

Baghdad, The President of the Republic, Abd al-Latif Jamal Rashid, stressed the need to expedite the approval of the budget to provide the requirements for reconstruction in the country.

A presidential statement stated that the President of the Republic received, in the Baghdad Palace, the Minister of Finance, Taif Sami, and discussed with her the developments of the financial and economic situation in the country.

According to the statement, the President of the Republic spoke at the outset of the meeting about Iraq’s upcoming participation in the Davos Conference, and his determination to work for Iraq to have a pivotal role by encouraging businessmen and capital to invest in projects that will contribute to the development of the local economic reality, especially after Iraq witnessed security and economic stability, pointing out that supporting the private sector is a national necessity to be a catalyst in supporting the country’s economy.

The President of the Republic stressed the need to expedite the approval of the draft budget law, to ensure the provision of the requirements for reconstruction in the country, the continuation of the wheel of progress and the development of the service and living reality for citizens in a manner that meets their legitimate rights to a free and dignified life.

The President stressed the need for appropriate reforms to combat corruption, which is an obstacle to any progress in the country. In this context, he pointed out the importance of relying on electronic governance to reduce financial waste and undermine corruption.

For her part, the Minister of Finance gave an explanation of the developments in the financial situation and the obstacles facing the advancement of the economy and the ways to overcome them, expressing her thanks to the President of the Republic for his support for everything that would achieve stability in the country at various levels.

Syrian-Lebanese talks to boost agricultural cooperation

Damascus, Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, Hassan Mohammed Qatana, discussed with Chargé d’affaires of the Lebanese Embassy in Damascus, Talal Daher, the development of relations in the agricultural field between the two countries.

During a meeting held on Thursday at the Ministry’s headquarters in Damascus, Qatana highlighted Syria’s interest in developing joint projects , especially with regard to preventing the transmission of transboundary livestock diseases , and protection of border areas, as well as cooperation in the fields of transport and the exchange of agricultural products between both the two brotherly countries.

He pointed out to the importance of activating signed agreements between the two sides and constituting a Syrian-Lebanese supreme committee to discuss further cooperation in all fields and to tackle challenges in mutual relations.

Daher, for his part, affirmed the strong ties between Syria and Lebanon, recalling the importance of a continuing dialogue between both sides in order to address issues related to transportation and marketing of products.

US occupation loots 60 trucks and tanks of Syrian wheat and oil

Hasaka, The US occupation forces continued looting Syrian wheat and oil as they stole a convoy consisting of 60 trucks and tanks of the two materials heading towards their bases in northern Iraq.

Local sources from al-Yarubiyah countryside in Hasaka told SANA reporter on Wednesday that a convoy of 36 tankers loaded with stolen Syrian oil was brought out by US occupation forces to their bases in northern Iraq through the illegitimate al-Mahmoudiya crossing in the far eastern countryside of Hasaka.

The sources added that another convoy consisting of 24 trucks and tanks accompanied by US military vehicles carrying stolen oil and wheat from the Syrian al-Jazeera region brought them out through the illegitimate al-Walid crossing.

Minister of Oil: More than (115) billion dollars Achieved for the export of crude oil last year

Baghdad Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs, Oil Minister Hayan Abdul-Ghani announced that the total revenues generated from exporting crude oil for the past year 2022 amounted to more than (115) billion dollars.

He said in a statement by the ministry: The quantities exported of crude oil amounted to more than one billion and (209) million barrels, and the final outcome of the daily oil export rate was approximately (3) million and (320) thousand barrels per day.

He pointed out: The export operations were carried out according to studies of the oil market for companies of various nationalities, including (Chinese, Indian, South Korean, Turkish, Greek, American, British, French, Russian, Italian, Spanish and Dutch) and others, as well as other Arab companies.

Abdul-Ghani praised the efforts of the employees of the Ministry of Oil and its departments for these achieved achievements, which provided the federal budget with sums of money amounting to more than (115) billion dollars.

Industry minister meets with BCCI Food Sector Committee

Manama, Minister of Industry and Commerce Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro praised the key role of Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) in backing the development process in the Kingdom of Bahrain. He stressed the ministry’s keenness to boost cooperation with BCCI within the framework of partnership with the private sector to secure the needs of the local market and cater to the consumers’ demands.

The Minister of Industry and Commerce was speaking at a meeting with BCCI members at the chamber’s headquarters. The meeting was held in the presence of BCCI Chairman Sameer bin Abdullah Nass and his First Deputy Khalid Mohammed Najeebi. It was also attended by members of BCCI’s Food Sector Committee and more than 20 food traders representing many companies.

The Minister of Industry and Commerce pointed out the importance of promoting cooperation and coordination between the ministry and the importing companies of the food staff to ensure availability of diverse products in the local markets. He also underlined the importance of diversifying the importation sources for the sake of food security and to handle any imbalance in the international importation chains.

A number of food traders participating in the meeting noted a remarkable decrease in the prices of some basic commodities. They said that they look forward to more decrease and stability in the prices during the first quarter of this year.

The Minister of Industry and Commerce asserted sustainability of food security in Bahrain according to international indicators thanks to the efforts of the government in this regard.

Al-Shammaa added: The national currency has proven, during the last period, its ability to remain stable and confront the rise in the price of the dollar, because the huge revenues and large reserves are the best support for its stability.
