Syria condemns killing of Nahel M by French police

Syria strongly condemned the cold-blooded and deliberate murder of the teenager Nahel M, a 17-year-old boy, in a suburb of Paris by the French police, a source at Foreign and Expatriates Ministry said Saturday.

“Syria joins those who advocate an end to racist behaviours that are rooted in the French authorities, mainly targeting members of the communities,” the source noted.

This crime reflects the racist colonial mentality, which belies the French government’s claimed values of equality and non-discrimination, the source indicated.

Five weak tremors reported over past 24 hours, NEC says

Over the past 24 hours, National Earthquake Center (NEC) announced that five quakes were recorded.

The center said in a statement that the stations of the National Seismological Network recorded a 2.3 magnitude tremor in the Mediterranean, northwest of Lattakia, a 2.9 magnitude tremor, west of Tartous and another tremor measuring 1.5, southwest of Tartous.

The NEC also reported a quake measuring 2.3 northwest of Cyprus and another one measuring 3.2 in Turkey.

MIKATI FOLLOWS-UP ON BCHARRE INCIDENT WITH ARMY CHIEF, MP GEAGEA, CALLS FOR WISDOM AND AVOIDING REACTIONS

Prime Minister Najib Mikati followed up today on the killing of the young citizen from Bcharre, Haitham Tawq, who was shot dead in the Qornet al-Sawda region, through a series of contacts, the most prominent of which was with the Army Commander, General Joseph Aoun, and the relevant security and judicial authorities. PM Mikati stressed that “this incident is condemned, and the perpetrators will be pursued and arrested so that the law can take its course and serve as an example to others.” He also emphasized during a call with MP Strida Geagea, the representative of Bcharre, “the need for everyone to be wise and not be drawn into any reactions, especially in these delicate circumstances that we live in.”

IRAN REVEALS DETAILS OF THE PLAN TO DEVELOP JOINT FIELDS WITH SAUDI ARABIA

The Executive Director of the National Iranian Oil Company, Mohsen Khajseteh Mehr, confirmed that there is no common field with Saudi Arabia that has not been identified yet, indicating “the start of a new phase of cooperation between the two countries,” according to “Russia Today” agency. The Iranian official indicated that “a plan has been identified for all fields shared between Iran and Saudi Arabia, and the necessary approvals have been obtained to carry out various operations, including increasing production, maintaining production and new development.” He added that the “Petropars” companies and the offshore facilities are engaged in oil production in the field, and an increase in new production will be announced soon.

HEAD OF THE LIBYAN GOVERNMENT, APPOINTED BY PARLIAMENT, CALLS ON THE AMERICAN ENVOY TO BE IMPARTIAL

Head of the Libyan government appointed by parliament, Osama Hammad, called on the US special envoy to Libya, Richard Norland, to respect the sovereignty of the Libyan judiciary and not to interfere with bias towards any party, according to “Russia Today”. This came after Norland called on Libyan political actors not to threaten to shut down the oil, noting that this threat could lead to “devastating repercussions on the Libyan economy and harm all Libyans.” Commenting on this, Hammad described Norland’s statements as “blatant interference in the affairs of the Libyan state,” and said in a tweet: “When we refer to stopping the flow of oil revenues, we aim to protect state funds and prevent corrupt people.” He addressed Norland by saying: “The US special envoy to Libya, Richard Norland, must respect the sovereignty of the Libyan judiciary and not interfere with bias towards any party.”

Pilgrims hosted under Custodian of Two Holy Mosques Guests Programme complete Hajj Rituals

A total of 4,951 people performing the pilgrimage under the Custodian of Two Holy Mosques Guests Program have completed their Hajj rituals after performing the farewell circumambulation.

Having completed their Hajj, these pilgrims, who come from 92 countries, will go to Madinah to visit the Prophet’s Mosque and other landmarks.

Their visits are planned by the program committees for tafwij, accommodation and other services, reports Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The programme also hosts 1,000 pilgrims from the families of the Saudi martyrs and injured participating in the Decisive Storm, 1,000 pilgrims from the families of the Yemeni martyrs and injured participating in the Decisive Storm, 280 pilgrims from Syria, 150 pilgrims from Yemen, in addition to 91 other pilgrims.

Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Bechara Boutros al-Rahi, said that he felt ashamed whenever he met with foreign delegations who would plead with Lebanon to elect a president of the republic. “I am ashamed of how officials in Lebanon are destroying their country with their own hands, as if political action is for destruction, and this is not true…” he said. The Patriarch’s words came during his visit to the town of Qobayat-Akkar on Saturday, at the invitation of the head of the Maronite Archdiocese of Tripoli and the North, Bishop Youssef Soueif, as part of the activities of the Apostolic Youth Days. Al-Rahi stressed that the future is in the hands of the youth despite the difficult days and circumstances, “for our youth are able to face the challenges, and we are with them, and this is the purpose of these meetings that take place in various Lebanese regions,” he added. “The political crisis in which we are living is the root of all other economic, daily-living, and developmental crises, and there are many young people who leave because of these crises, but the history of Lebanon is a history of steadfastness, and our youth are determined to stand firm and survive, so be confident that with our solidarity together, our transcendence over wounds, and our unity, Lebanon will regain its health, dignity and pioneering role,” the Patriarch assured.

Al-Sudais announces Success of Tawaf Al Wadaa plan

The General President for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, Sheikh Dr. Abdurrahman bin Abdulaziz Al-Sudais, has announced the success of the plan to receive pilgrims who flocked to the Holy Kaaba to perform the farewell circumambulation (Tawaf Al Wadaa) on 12 Dhul Hijjah.

Al-Sudais said that pilgrims have enjoyed high-quality organizational and supervisory services while performing their farewell Tawaf, provided by qualified employees and well-equipped vehicles, reports SPA.

Success of Hajj health plans confirmed, no outbreaks reports

Saudi The Minister of Health, Fahd Al-Jalajel, announced the success of the health plans for this year’s Hajj season 1444 AH and the absence of any outbreaks or threats to public health.

“I am pleased to announce the success of this year’s Hajj health plans and the absence of any outbreaks or threats to public health, witnessing the return of this seasons’ pilgrim numbers to what they were before the pandemic.”, he said in a statement delivered from the Command and Control Center in Mina.

The minister attributed the success of the plans to the integration among all Saudi government agencies and early preparedness for the Hajj season, with help from more than 36,000 health cadres from all sectors, supported by more than 7,600 volunteers.

Al-Jalajel noted that the number of pilgrims receiving healthcare services exceeded 400,000, of which 50 underwent open heart surgery, 800 received cardiac catheters, and more than 1,600 had dialysis sessions.

Virtual health consultations through Seha Virtual Hospital SVH were provided for 4,000 pilgrims, and 8,000 were treated for heat stress, reports Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The Speaker of Parliament visits the historic Khan Dhari building

Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi visited today, Saturday, the historic Khan Dhari building, and he was received by the Secretary-General of the Iraqi National Project, Sheikh Jamal al-Dari, in the presence of Sheikh Abdul Rahman al-Dari, sheikh of the Zawba tribe.

Al-Halbousi, according to a statement by his media office, was briefed on the historic building and its contents, including a library, holdings, weapons, and pictures of the leaders of the eternal Twenty Revolution, praising the efforts of Al-Dhari Foundation for Development in preserving this great legacy, which represents a national symbol for all Iraqis.

Minister of Immigration: We are coordinating with the Swedish government to retrieve the burner of the Holy Quran

The Minister of Immigration and Displacement, Evan Faeq Jabro, said today, Saturday, that there will be coordination with the Swedish government to retrieve the burner of the Holy Quran and ensure that this incident does not recur.

A statement by the Ministry said: “Jabro participated in a stand condemning the repeated incident of burning copies of the Holy Qur’an in the state of Sweden, in the Church of Our Lady of Deliverance in the center of the capital, Baghdad, in the presence of the Archbishop of Baghdad of the Syriac Catholics, His Excellency Mor Ephrem Youssef Aba, and a large gathering of members of the Christianity sect, and sheikhs and dignitaries from all components of the country.

Jabro stressed, according to the statement, that “the repeated incident of burning copies of the Holy Qur’an is behind it parties that do not want goodness and peace for humanity. All religions and heavenly books have all respect and appreciation, and it is not permissible to be transgressed by anyone,” calling on the State of Sweden to hold the person who committed this act accountable with the most severe punishments and not allowing this abuse to be repeated.

She praised the efforts of the Supreme Judicial Council and its president, Judge Faeq Zaidan, for issuing an arrest warrant against this person and asking Sweden to extradite him to Iraq, noting at the same time that “the Ministry of Migration and Displacement will have a position, through coordination with the Swedish government, to retrieve the wanted person and ensure that this incident does not recur.”
