Egypt receives 134 wounded, sick, and Palestinian companions from the Gaza Strip


The Rafah land crossing in North Sinai received 37 wounded and sick people and 97 Palestinian companions from the Gaza Strip, for treatment in Egyptian hospitals.

An official medical source in North Sinai said: ’26 wounded and sick people and 11 tumor patients were received from Al-Aqsa, European, Najjar and Turkish Friendship hospitals for treatment in the hospitals of Al-Arish General, Sheikh Zuweid, Al-Hayat in Port Fouad, Oncology in Kafr El-Sheikh, Assiut University, and Health Insurance in Fuwa and May 15 in Cairo and the Emirati ship, along with 97 of their companions.

The source added that the Palestinians’ injuries varied between fractures, wounds, burns, amputation of limbs, eye injuries, heart disease, birth defects, asthma, paralysis, joint stiffness, convulsions, and cancerous tumors.

The source indicated that 387 Palestinians with residency permits in Egypt and a number of Arab and foreign countries were received, in addition to receiving 35 people with foreign passports, and 80 people with E
gyptian passports.

He pointed out: ‘Since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, Egypt has received more than 4,000 injured and sick people from Gaza for treatment in Egyptian hospitals and a number of sisterly and friendly countries, along with about 6,000 companions, in addition to the crossing of 29,000 Palestinians, foreign nationals and dual nationals, and about 6 thousand Egyptians are stranded in the Gaza Strip.

Announcing the death of 5 young men in Nour Shams camp, bringing the number of martyrs to 7

Tulkarm – Ma’an – Security sources in Tulkarm reported, on Saturday, that five young men were martyred during the ongoing Israeli aggression against Nour Shams camp for the third day in a row.

She said that the occupation authorities informed them of the detention of the bodies of: Alaa Youssef Abdel Rahim, Jaafar Salim Khaled Omar, Ahmed Hossam Muhammad Shehadeh, Omar Saleh Nayef Abu Al-Rub, and Ali Muhammad Ali Abdullah, without any information about the circumstances of their martyrdom.

With the martyrdom of the five young men, the number of martyrs of the camp has risen so far to 7 martyrs, including the child martyr Qais Fathi Nasrallah (15 years old), who was transferred yesterday to the hospital, and the martyr Salim Faisal Ghannam (30 years old), who is still lying in one of the camp’s houses.

The occupation forces prevent ambulances from entering the camp to transport the martyrs.

The Red Crescent Society reported that its crews were trying to reach casualties after receiving reports in the slaug
hterhouse area of ??Nour Shams camp, but the occupation forces prevented them, pursued them, and asked them to leave the place.

The occupation forces opened fire on an ambulance belonging to the Red Crescent Society after its crew attempted to pull the body of one of the martyrs from one of the outskirts of the camp, but no injuries were reported.

The occupation forces continue their aggression against the camp by sending more military vehicles stationed in all its axes, alleys, neighborhoods and Nablus Street adjacent to its entrance, amid heavy gunfire at anyone trying to leave or approach the camp.

The occupation bulldozers carried out extensive demolition and sabotage of infrastructure and citizens’ property, affecting the camp’s bakery, commercial stores, homes, fences, and the destruction of vehicles, in addition to the interruption of electricity, water, communication networks, and the Internet. This attack was described as the most violent and worst in months.

ens of citizens’ homes, introducing police dogs into them, searching and vandalizing them, arresting young men, beating and abusing them, and deploying their snipers on the roofs of tall buildings. They have also blown up a number of homes with Energa guided missiles.

So far, 12 people injured by live bullets and severe beatings have arrived at the Martyr Thabet Thabet Governmental Hospital and the Al-Isra Specialized Hospital in Tulkarm, and their injuries were described as minor to moderate.

14,672 Violations of Residence, Work, Border Security Regulations Apprehended in a Week


Riyadh: The inspection campaigns carried out in all regions of the Kingdom from April 11 to 17, 2024, to check compliance with residency, work and border security regulations, yielded the following results:

Across the Kingdom, 14,672 violations were recorded: 9,479 of residency, 3,763 of border security, and 1,430 of labor law.

Some 996 individuals attempted to cross the border into the Kingdom illegally, of whom 33% Yemenis, 64% Ethiopians, and 3% of other nationalities; 73 people were arrested for attempting to illegally leave the Kingdom.

Six people involved in transporting, sheltering and employing residence, work and border security law violators were arrested.

The total number of those who are currently subject to the procedures for implementing the regulations reached 58,902 violating expatriates, including 54,551 men and 4,351 women.

Of the people caught having failed to comply with the law, 52,073 were referred to their diplomatic missions, to obtain travel documents, 2,861 were referred to comp
lete their travel reservations, and 8,766 were deported.

The Ministry of Interior warned that any person who facilitates the illegal entry of individuals into the Kingdom, transports them on its territory, provides them with shelter or with any other assistance or service may be penalized with up to 15 years in prison and a fine of up to SAR1 million, and that the vehicles used for transport or housing used for shelter may be confiscated.

The ministry stressed that such acts are major crimes that warrant arrest.

It also urges people to report any violations by calling 911 in the Makkah, Riyadh, and Eastern regions, and 999 and 996 in the rest of the Kingdom.

Sustainable Development Assistant Undersecretary participates in ministerial roundtable on importance of data


Washington, Danah Imad Hamzah, the Assistant Undersecretary for Sustainable Development at the Ministry of Sustainable Development, has called for continuing concerted international efforts in order to achieve sustainable development goals, highlighting the importance of enhancing the power of data and the need to benefit from them to accelerate the pace of reaching those goals and achieve the forecast visions and aspirations.

The Assistant Undersecretary made the statements while addressing the Partnership Roundtable on ‘The Power of Data – Unlocking the Data Dividend’, held yesterday on the sidelines of the 2024 Spring Meetings of the World Bank Group (WBG) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), held in Washington DC.

The ministerial-level roundtable event convened global leaders and data science pioneers in international organisations, such as the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA), the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) and the Worl
d Bank Group, in addition to data-related non-governmental organisations such as the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data.

The event aimed to explore opportunities for strengthened collaboration on financial and technical support for countries’ urgent data and data systems priorities.

The ministerial-level roundtable highlighted the importance of developing the country database, stressing that the availability of data is an essential prerequisite for determining development needs.

The participants also lauded Bahrain’s pioneering role in developing its database and enhancing its national statistical capacity in calculating and publishing development data in line with best international practices and requirements.

The Assistant Undersecretary for Sustainable Development also held meetings with a group of experts and specialists in the field of development data, including Haishan Fu, the Chief Statistician of the World Bank and Director of the World Bank’s Development Data Group.

The occupation forces stormed the house of the martyr Manasra in Qalandia camp, arrested his father, Youssef Manasra, and his son, and took measurements of his house in preparation for its demolition.

The martyr, Muhammad Manasra, carried out a shooting attack on February 29, 2024, at the gas station at the entrance to the ‘Eli’ settlement, resulting in the killing of two settlers.

TURKISH, EGYPTIAN FOREIGN MINISTERS HOLD TALKS IN ISTANBUL


Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held extensive talks with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, at the Turkish Foreign Ministry’s office in Istanbul, according to “Russia Today”.

The talks dealt with multiple issues, most notably the escalating tension in the Middle East.

Turkish diplomatic sources reported that Fidan and Shoukry discussed important regional issues, such as Gaza, Libya, the Eastern Mediterranean, Sudan, Ivory Coast, in addition to issues of trade, economy and bilateral investments.

Nablus, the funeral of the bodies of the martyrs Bani Fadel and Bani Jami’

The occupation forces handed over the bodies of the two martyrs, Bani Fadel and Bani Jama’, yesterday after detaining them for about six days, after colonists shot them during an attack on Khirbet al-Tawil, which is part of the lands of Aqraba.

KSrelief Continues to Distribute Bread to Refugees in Lebanon


Beirut, The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) continued implementing Al-Amal Charitable Bakery project in Akkar Governorate and Al-Minieh District in Lebanon.

During the last week, the project distributed 25,000 bags daily to needy families of Syrians, Palestinians and the host community living in northern Lebanon, benefiting 125,000 individuals.

This project comes within the efforts made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through KSrelief, to help refugees in various locations.

BTEA participates in high-level meeting on sustainable tourism in New York


New York, Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) participated in a high-level meeting on sustainable tourism recently held on the sidelines of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

For the first time, the meeting included a dedicated agenda item to discuss the topic of sustainable tourism.

In this regard, the authority presented a paper highlighting the achievements of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the field of sustainable tourism, reaffirming the Kingdom’s commitment to achieving the goals of sustainable development through the implementation of wide-ranging economic programs and developmental projects. These efforts align with the comprehensive development process led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and with the follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in line with Bahrain Economic Vision 2030 and the 2022-2026 Tourism Strategy.

During the event, Dr. Ali Follad, consultant for BTEA, highlight
ed in his speech the efforts exerted by the Kingdom of Bahrain to promote sustainability in the tourism sector and preserve the environment for future generations. These efforts encompass various aspects, including the development of tourism infrastructure and the hotel sector, the enhancement of marine tourism while protecting natural and environmental resources, and the promotion of cultural and heritage tourism.

These endeavors aim to accelerate the achievement of sustainable development goals, embed sustainability principles in the promising tourism sector, and diversify non-oil national income sources.

Dr. Follad emphasized the Kingdom’s encouragement of sustainability in the entertainment industry within the tourism sector, fostering the concept of responsible tourism and creating sustainable value by enhancing its impact on economic and social development within local communities.

He also highlighted the numerous initiatives and quality projects implemented by the Kingdom to promote sustainability i
n the tourism sector, such as the development of nature reserves and coastal tree reserves, promoting eco-friendly practices, green solutions, and adopting sustainability in the architectural design of hotels, tourist facilities, coasts, and entertainment complexes. One notable example is the sustainable architectural design of Al Dana Amphitheatre.

Furthermore, Dr. Follad mentioned the Kingdom’s focus on promoting sustainability in tourism-related infrastructure, including Bahrain International Airport, and the preservation of the historical and cultural identity of buildings and cities in Bahrain in general, citing the launch of the Muharraq Development Plan.

Dr. Follad highlighted the efforts of the Bahrain International Circuit, “The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East”, in the field of sustainable tourism, which earned international recognition through winning The Event Innovation Award at the F1 Promoter Awards in London. This recognition was a result of its pioneering initiatives in solar energy, e
nergy conservation, and the utilization of innovative technology.

In conclusion, Dr. Follad acknowledged the Kingdom of Bahrain’s awareness of the importance of sustainable tourism in the development of the tourism sector and the preservation of the environment for future generations.
