The President of the Republic receives congratulations from the Emir of Kuwait on the Inauguration of Gulf 25

The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, received a cable of congratulations from the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber, on the occasion of the inauguration of the Gulf 25.

The Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) stated: “The Emir of Kuwait sent a cable of congratulations to Abdullatif Jamal Rashid, President of the brotherly Republic of Iraq, expressing his great pleasure at the fraternal sports gathering that brought together the brothers and participants in the twenty-fifth Arab Gulf Cup tournament hosted by the city of Basra in the Republic of Iraq.”

He also expressed his sincere congratulations on the success of the Inaguration of the twenty-fifth Arab Gulf Cup, appreciating the great, distinguished and high preparations and capabilities provided by the brothers in the Republic of Iraq for this Gulf sporting event, praising the fine artistic show that express the ancient history of Iraq and other artistic show that added a spirit of love, joy and pleasure to the followers inside and outside the Republic of Iraq won their admiration, which permeated the Inaguration ceremony and reflected the prestigious civilized face of the brotherly country.

The Emir of Kuwait wished all success to all the teams participating in this Gulf wedding and to the parties responsible for preparing for this tournament, success to achieve their noble and desired goals, asking God Almighty to perpetuate the president with good health and wellness and for the brotherly Republic of Iraq and its honorable people continued progress and prosperity.

Al-Sudani: The government will continue to work to strengthen the role of our armed forces in all its forms

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Prime Minister Muhammad Shia’ al-Sudani, confirmed that the government will continue, within its program, to work to strengthen the role of our armed forces in all its forms, led by our heroic Iraqi army. It is also working on the technological and field development of its combat weapons, and raising the capabilities of movement, deployment and capture the earth and repel aggression.

Al-Sudani said, in a press statement today, Friday, “The 102nd year has passed since the establishment of our heroic Iraqi army, the arm of the state and the symbol of its independence.

He added, “This memory comes today, and we live in an atmosphere of stability, which was not achieved except with the great sacrifices and precious blood that our valiant army made along with all the national armed forces of all kinds and duties.”

He went on to say, “Our armed forces maintain a rich record of victories, the latest of which was the heroism it embroidered through the victory over terrorism and the restoration of our land from the clutches of evil. We remember the blood of the martyrs, young and old, as they rush unaware of death,” stressing, “Our government will continue, within its program, to work to strengthen the role of our armed forces in all its forms, led by our heroic Iraqi army, and to work on the technological and field development of its combat weapons, and to raise the capabilities of movement, deployment and holding the land and repelling aggression

He concluded by saying, a tribute to respect and appreciation for the men who have always stood up to defend their people in our armed forces. Glory to the martyrs of Iraq, the title of our pride, and the pillar of our secure life..Happy new year to our army and our people.

The President of the Republic lays a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier on the occasion of the anniversary of the founding of the Iraqi army

The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, laid today, Friday, January 6, a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, on the occasion of the (102nd) anniversary of the founding of the Iraqi army.

The ceremony began with the playing of the national anthem, then the President of the Republic inspected the guard of honor, laid a wreath at the monument of the Unknown Soldier and recited Surat Al-Fatihah as a tribute to the martyrs of Iraq.

The ceremony was attended by a number of senior officials and military leaders, in addition to representatives of diplomatic bodies and missions in Iraq.

Muqtada Al-Sadr: Army Day is a National Day

The leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada Al-Sadr, presented his congratulations to the Iraqi army on the occasion of its most recent holiday, considering that the army’s Day is the homeland’s Day.

In his tweet, Al-Sadr called for preserving the rights of the army as long as it serves the nation and the people.

Russia, Turkey discuss the situation in Syria

Moscow, Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed on Thursday with President of Turkish regime Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in a phone call, the situation in Syria and Ukraine.

“Prospects for resolving the crisis in Syria were discussed, and a positive evaluation was given to the meeting of the defense ministers of Syria, Turkey and Russia, which was held in Moscow in December 2022, with the participation of the heads of the intelligence apparatus in the three countries”, RT website quoted a statement by the Kremlin as saying.

The statement pointed out that enhancing communication in this tripartite format would contribute to improve the situation in Syria, including restoring its territorial integrity and resolving the problem of refugees and combating the international terrorism.

Sabbagh: Syria determined to cooperate with OPCW to close the chemical file

New York, Syria’s permanent representative to the UN, Ambassador Bassam Sabbagh said Syria is determined to cooperate with the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) to close “the Chemical file.”

“Syria has repeatedly condemned the use of chemical weapons by anyone, at any time or in any place, and it affirmed that it has never used any kind of these banned weapons or any toxic substances,” Ambassador Sabbagh said during a session of the UN Security Council on the Chemical file in Syria.

He added that Syria calls on OPCW member countries to deal with that file according to its technical nature, and “to not jump to premature conclusions.”

Sabbagh affirmed that Syria has joined the Chemical Weapons Convention ( CWC ) by freewill in 2013 and it had eliminated all its stockpile in 2014 despite difficult conditions.

HH Shaikh Nasser hails camel’s victory

Manama, HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, has affirmed that the achievements of Bahrain’s camel sport is the fruitful outcome of the ongoing care of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

In this regard, HH Shaikh Nasser expressed delight at the success of camel “Taghreed” in claiming the first place in the King Abdulaziz Camel Festival in Saudi Arabia in the Haqaiq Bakkar open category. HH also praised the success of “Khateera” in winning second place in the same race.

HH Shaikh Nasser indicated that the victory adds to the successes of Bahrain’s camel sport at external gatherings, and will be a catalyst for attaining more achievements during future competitions.

Taghreed won the race after clocking six minutes and 24 seconds.

Bahrain-Saudi solid relations highlighted

Riyadh, Sustainable Development Minister Noor bint Ali Al Khulaif hailed strong fraternal relations binding the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

She noted growing cooperation between the two countries, supported by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister and HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

She made the statement as she met Saudi Minister of Economy and Planning Faisal bin Fadhel Al Ibrahim to discuss joint cooperation and exchanging expertise, in addition to adopting strategies and initiatives supporting sustainable development goals.

Saudi Arabia Gets Elected to Lead Executive Office of Arab Council for Population and Development

Riyadh, During the fourth session of the Arab Council for Population and Development, held in Riyadh in December 2022, that was chaired by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia represented by the Ministry of Economy and Planning, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was elected as the President of the Executive Office of the Arab Council for Population and Development for a two-year term.

The Executive Office of the Arab Council for Population and Development offers and follows up on policy proposals and recommendations made in the Council’s sessions.

The Arab Council for Population and Development was launched in Amman, Jordan in 2019. The Council aims at unifying Arab efforts in supporting population and development issues, offering technical assistance to member states to remain aware of regional and international developments, and helping Arab national councils to draw population strategies in line with their national needs.

Saudi-Thai Parliamentary Friendship Committee Meets with Its Counterpart of Thai Senate

Riyadh, The Saudi-Thai Parliamentary Friendship Committee of the Shura Council, headed by member of the council and chair of the committee Osama Al-Rabeeah, in the presence of members of the committee, has virtually met with the Thai-Saudi Friendships Committee of the Thai Senate.

During the meeting, the two sides stressed the significance of strengthening bilateral ties between the Kingdom of Thailand and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and expanding cooperation in various fields, particularly those related to parliamentary relations. They also reviewed a number of topics and issues of mutual interest and discussed ways to activate visits between the two committees to strengthen parliamentary relations between the two countries.
