Integrity Commission carried out 88 seizure operations in Baghdad and the provinces during the past month

The Federal Integrity Commission announced today Friday the implementation of 88 seizure operations in Baghdad and the governorates during last November, and the arrest of 23 accused.

The Commission’s Investigation Department said in a statement that “the staff of the Najaf Investigation Office carried out (16) seizure operations, (11) operations in Muthanna, and (10) operations in Diyala.”

It added, “These operations resulted in the arrest of (23) suspects during (7) operations of arrest, pointing out that” the largest number of suspects who were arrested was in Kirkuk Governorate, which amounted to (13) suspects.

The commission renewed its demand for citizens to report corruption and the corrupt, calling on them to submit their complaints and reports through its official outlets, stressing its commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of the reporting and the identity of the whistleblower

Friday Imam of Kufa: The LGBT community threatens the future of humanity, and the governments of the world must abolish the gay law

The Friday imam of the Kufa Mosque, Kadhim Al-Husseini, warned of the threat to the future of humanity and the safety of societies with the LGBT community.

Al-Husseini said in his political sermon for Friday prayers before the followers of the Sadrist movement: Today we are facing a dangerous turning point led by the followers of Satan who threaten the future of humanity and the safety of its societies, and they are the so-called gay community that advocates same-sex marriage.

Al-Husseini pointed out that “the wrong understanding of public and private freedoms is what made such people slip into the labyrinths of Satan and commit atrocities in front of the world and under the cover of some countries and institutions, causing harm to all of humanity and not only harming themselves and the society in which they live.

He continued that Sayyid Muqtada al-Sadr pointed out the seriousness of this act and warned of the causes of the spread of calamity and epidemic in the world as a result of what comes from this deviant society.

The Friday preacher of Kufa called on the governments of the countries of the world to immediately and without delay abolish the same-sex law, perhaps it would be tantamount to remorse for the sin, otherwise it will not be time to regret it

The United Nations: Great efforts to establish a population census in Iraq in 2023

Baghdad The United Nations Population Fund in Iraq clarified today, Thursday, the latest developments in the census file in Iraq, and while confirming that great government efforts have been made to conduct it on time in 2023, it indicated that its implementation will be done electronically and depends on providing financial allocations in the 2023 budget.

“The preparations for the implementation of the population census began in 2019, as it was hoped that it would be implemented in 2020, but the Corona pandemic caused it to be postponed,” said Mahdi Al-Alaq, the Fund’s Chief Advisor, to the official News Agency.

He added, “The Central Statistical Organization and the Ministry of Planning are making great efforts to adhere to the new date in 2023,” explaining, “This issue is related to preparing an adequate budget, and with the launch of the new government and the new budget for 2023, appropriate allocations may be available for the purposes of implementing the general population census.”

He stressed that “the United Nations Population Fund is one of the sponsors of this large project, and we hope that it will be achieved on time,” explaining that “the budget for the general population census planned by the Central Statistical Organization is about $120 million, and there are some aspects of disbursement that took place during the past years, but still limited.

He explained that “the largest budget will be for technical means, because the census will move from the paper method to the tablet method, as well as data centers and means of communication will be via the Internet,” pointing out that “these requirements must be secured before proceeding with the implementation of the general population census.”

Baghdad The Saudi authorities announced that they had thwarted attempts to smuggle large quantities of drugs in 4 regions, confirming the arrest of their smugglers.

According to the official spokesman for the General Directorate of Border Guards, Colonel Misfer Al-Quraini / according to the Saudi Press Agency / that the land patrols of the border guards in the regions of Najran, Jizan, Asir and the northern borders, thwarted attempts to smuggle 52.4 tons of the narcotic khat, 807 kilograms of narcotic hashish and 475,166 tablets subject to medical regulation and 145,597 tablets of amphetamine.

Al-Quraini confirmed the arrest of their smugglers, explaining that their number is 421 accused, including 39 citizens, and 382 violators of the border security system, and they are 342 of Yemeni nationality, 38 of Ethiopian nationality and 2 of Iraqi nationality.

Arab tourism ministers urge that intra-Arab collaboration in the tourism industry be strengthened

Cairo, The Arab tourism ministers emphasized the need for increased intra-Arab collaboration in the tourism industry as well as increased training in the tourism industry and efforts to increase the trust of Arab tourists in the Arab tourism offering.

This occurred during the 25th session of the Arab Tourism Ministers Council, which kicked off today at the Arab League’s headquarters, under chairmanship of Jordanian Minister of Tourism Nayef Al-Fayez.

He added that “while the Houthi militias continue to oppose these plans with Iran’s backing, the tourism industry in Yemen has suffered significantly as a result of Houthi attacks on facilities including airports, hotels, and museums as well as the smuggling of Yemeni antiquities.”

Shura Council Holds 14th Ordinary Session

Riyadh, The Shura Council held today its 14th ordinary session, presided over by its Speaker Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh.

During the meeting, the Shura Council discussed a number of reports presented by the Human Resources and Social Development Committee; the Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee; and the Trade and Investment Committee.

The Shura Council approved a draft memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Sport of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Sports Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan for cooperation in the field of sports.

It also approved a draft memorandum of cooperation between King Abdulaziz Foundation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the National Agency for Advancement of Culture (National Library and National Archives) of the Republic of Djibouti.

The Shura Council approved a draft memorandum of understanding between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Government of the Republic of Senegal for cooperation in the field of encouraging direct investment.

It also discussed a number of issues on its agenda.

NBR holds 8 awareness workshops

Manama, As part of the National Bureau for Revenue’s (NBR) commitment to raise VAT and excise payers’ awareness of all aspects of the VAT and Digital Stamps Scheme, and ensure the effective implementation through its various stages, the NBR held 8 virtual workshops during the current year 2022. The interactive workshops were attended by more than 800 representatives from 482 different entities.

The NBR virtual workshops were dedicated to increasing businesses’ awareness of VAT and Digital Stamps Scheme procedures, which include a question-and-answer session to respond to all relevant inquiries by NBR representatives.

The NBR will continue organizing virtual workshops in the upcoming phase. Interested VAT and excise payers may pre-register by filling out the workshop registration form through the NBR’s website at www.nbr.gov.bh to enable NBR representatives to communicate and share relevant details about upcoming workshops.

Iraqi participation in the meetings of the Executive Office of the Arab Ministerial Council for Tourism

Baghdad The Minister of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities, Ahmed Fakak Al-Badrani, participated in the meetings of the 31st session of the Executive Office of the Arab Ministerial Council for Tourism, which was held under the presidency of the Arab Republic of Egypt, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab League.

A statement by the Ministry stated: Ahmed Issa, the Egyptian Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, presided over the meeting, in the presence and participation of the member states of the office, and a number of advanced Egyptian cadres in the field of tourism, transportation and public relations.

During the meeting, agenda items were discussed, which relate to many important issues to activate joint Arab action, especially with regard to the development of the Arab tourism sector, including support for the Palestinian economy in the field of tourism, a program for training human cadres in the tourism sector in Arab countries, and general Arab guiding principles to standardize registration procedures and the adoption and use of vaccines among Arab countries, and the guide to facilitated tourism, and tourism innovation and smart tourism.

It is noteworthy that the member states of the Executive Office of the Arab Ministerial Council for Tourism are Egypt, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Sultanate of Oman, Palestine, Iraq, Tunisia, Algeria, and the Kingdom of Morocco.
