Baghdad The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, visited today, Wednesday, the Great Immaculate Church in al-Hamdaniya district in Nineveh Governorate.

The president, according to a statement by his office, expressed his happiness at visiting Al-Hamdaniya district and meeting its people, praising their steadfastness in the face of terrorism.

He pointed out that the Christian component expressed its courage and steadfastness side by side with other Iraqis in facing challenges and hardships, pointing to the importance of advancing the district and meeting the legitimate demands of its people.

He looked at the reality of the district and the conditions of its citizens, and listened to the problems they face and the needs necessary to develop their service and living conditions.

The President of the Republic congratulated the people of the district on the birthday of Jesus Christ, peace be upon him, expressing his happiness at the end of the page of terrorism in the region and the return of its residents and the restoration of stability and security in it.

He recalled the sacrifices made by the heroic martyrs, men and women, for the sake of a democratic Iraq in which everyone lives in peace.

The number of victims of snow storms in the United States rose to 64

Baghdad US media reported, quoting the authorities, that the number of victims of snow storms in the country reached 64, today, Tuesday.

“This storm is probably the worst the city has seen in more than 50 years,” said Buffalo Mayor, Byron Brown, in an interview with MSNBC.

Thirty-three people were killed in Erie County, New York, which includes the city of Buffalo, despite the measures taken by the authorities.

The Authorities banned movement by car in some areas in light of the record amount of snow.

Officials say snow is hampering relief operations because roads are blocked, as equipment cannot move. Deaths were also recorded in 11 US states.

Baghdad The Media and Communications Authority announced, on Sunday, an agreement with its Egyptian counterpart to train media cadres and combat violent and hate speech.

The Authority stated, in a statement, that it “held a coordination meeting with the delegation of the Supreme Council for Egyptian Media Regulation, which arrived in Iraq yesterday morning, Saturday, headed by Karam Kamel Jabr, and in the presence of the head of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate, Moayad Al-Lami.”

It added, “The head of the authority, Ali Al-Moayyed, welcomed the visit of the Egyptian delegation, which coincides with the birth of Christ and New Year’s Eve, praising the Egyptian experience in the media field and the depth of historical relations between the two brotherly peoples, and stressed that bilateral cooperation can benefit the media institutions in both countries and contribute in creating an Arab media discourse characterized by moderation and moderation, away from hatred, violence and terrorism.

The Authority indicated that “its Head gave an explanation about the work of the Media and Communications Commission and the tasks that fall upon it, foremost of which is ensuring a safe environment for media professionals, as well as creating legal legislation that contributes to the media institutions’ exercise of their work and the transmission of opinions with transparency and impartiality.”

It pointed out, “The cooperation between the Media and Communications Commission and the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate contributed to creating a kind of immunity for the media sector, through decisions issued by the Supreme Judicial Council on mechanisms for legal dealings with workers in the media field.”

For his part, Karam Kamel Jabr, Chairman of the Supreme Council for the Egyptian Media Organization, thanked the warm Iraqi reception after his meeting with the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani, and the Speaker of Parliament, Muhammad Al-Halbousi.

He gave an explanation of the Egyptian media strategy and the mechanism for dealing with public discourse, limiting news and misleading information, and combating hate speech, violence and incitement.

He touched on Iraqi-Egyptian cooperation projects in the fields of media publishing and promotion, training programs for journalists and media workers, as well as media support for joint commercial and economic activities between the two countries.

After a four-day disappearance, the body of a man was found in the south of Hilla

A police patrol in Al-Qasim district, south of Hilla, today, Friday, found the body of a man near a store he owned, and his family had previously reported his disappearance four days ago.

A source in the Babylon police said, “The man, in his sixties, who owns a clothing store, disappeared four days ago, and the police found his body today near his store.”

He added that the police transferred the body to the forensic medicine office, and an investigation was opened into the accident to find out the causes of death.

Al-Azhar condemned Afghanistan’s decision to deny girls their right to university education, calling on it to review itself.

In a statement, he asked: about the source and methodology of the decision, which contradicts Islamic law, because it encourages continuous education without restriction?

Al-Azhar said: It deeply regrets the issuance of a decision by the authorities in Afghanistan to prevent Afghan girls from university education, as it is a decision that contradicts Islamic law, and shocks its explicit call for men and women to seek knowledge from the cradle to the grave, that call that resulted in the mighty minds of the genius women in the history of Scientific, political and cultural Islam is still a source of pride and admiration for every Muslim loyal to God, His Messenger and His law.

He emphasized that this decision, which shocks the consciences of Muslims and non-Muslims, should not have been issued by any Muslim, let alone adhere to it and be proud of its issuance.

Al-Azhar rejected this decision and considered it a decision that does not represent Islamic law, and radically contradicts the call of the Noble Qur’an.

In his statement, he warned Muslims and non-Muslims against believing, surmising, or delusional that saying that it is forbidden to educate women and girls is something that Islam approves of, but it denies it in the strongest terms, and it is a denial of one of the legal rights that Islam guaranteed to women just as it guaranteed to men, equally, and to say otherwise is a slander against this is the valuable religion, and that Islam is the religion that obliges every Muslim man and woman to seek knowledge
