Jordan sends new batch of humanitarian aid to Syria

Chargé d’affaires at the Jordanian Embassy in Damascus, Basel Al-Kayed, announced that his country will send a new batch of humanitarian aid to support those affected by the earthquake hit Syria last February.

Al-Kayed said that the Jordanian government, in coordination with the Syrian government, will send 10 trucks loaded with humanitarian, medical and food aid on Monday.

He reiterated his country’s willingness to provide humanitarian assistance to the brotherly Syrian people to overcome the aftermath of this natural disaster.

Khalid bin Hamad praises athlete’s achievement

First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), President of the General Sport Authority (GSA), President of Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, praised the achievement of runner Leila Kamal, from the Faisal bin Khalid Athletics Academy, who won gold in the 100-metre women’s race in the 5th Asian Junior Athletics Championship, in Uzbekistan.

Dubbed the fastest Asian woman, HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, commended the accomplishment as the outcome of the generous support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to the sport sector. He lauded the prominent role and efforts of the Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, SCYS Chairman, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa. He also noted the remarkable role of Bahrain Athletics Association, under the chairmanship of Mohammed Abdellatif Fahad bin Jalal, in developing the national teams.

HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa commended the outstanding performance of runner Leila Kamal who was able to clinch the first place and become the fastest female runner in the Asian continent. He took pride in the efforts of the association and the technical and administrative staff of the Faisal bin Khalid Athletics Academy who paved the way for a new champion.

Leila Kamal finished the 100-metre women’s race in first place clocking 11:77 seconds.

LMRA, NPRA, Muharraq Police Directorate conduct joint inspection campaign

The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) conducted a joint inspection campaign in the Muharraq Governorate, in coordination with the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) of the Ministry of Interior and the Governorate’s respective Police Directorate.

The campaign resulted in reporting violations related to the Labour Market and Residency laws. The cases were referred for legal action.

LMRA stressed its commitment to report any violation through a continuous and intensive inspection plan, in coordination with the relevant government entities.

The Labour Market Regulatory Authority renewed its call on all members of the society to support the efforts of government agencies in addressing illegal labour practices by reporting violations via the electronic form on LMRA’s website www.lmra.gov.bh or by calling the authority’s call centre on 17506055.

Industry Minister pays inspection visit to permanent farmers’ market in Hoorat A’ali

Industry and Commerce Minister, Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, has lauded the support of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD) Consultative Council President, for establishing a permanent market for Bahraini farmers as a platform to encourage and promote local products.

The minister made the statements while paying an inspection visit to the permanent farmers’ market in Hoorat A’ali, accompanied by officials from the Industry and Commerce Ministry and those of the Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Ministry.

The was briefed about the projects presented by merchants in the permanent farmers’ market, stressing the government’s keenness to follow up on all issues related to the commercial sector and continue stimulating an economic and commercial environment that encourages growth, expansion and investment, as part of the ongoing efforts to follow up on developments in the markets, and be informed about the needs of merchants.

Transport General Authority: More than 14 million shipments delivered by parcel delivery companies to beneficiaries during Ramadan

The Transport General Authority (TGA) has announced that licensed companies in the parcel delivery sector delivered over 14 million shipments during Ramadan 1444 AH across the Kingdom, a 56% increase compared to the previous year.

Furthermore, the authority received more than 12,000 incoming calls and over 40,000 reports and complaints via the unified number and the authority’s website. The TGA collaborated with shipping companies to improve service levels, enforce the preservation of shipment contents, handle beneficiary reports within seven days, maintain shipment information confidentiality, and respond to beneficiary inquiries.

The TGA urges all licensed companies and carriers to comply with relevant regulations that ensure high-quality and safe transportation services. Interested parties can benefit from these services, and the TGA is open to receiving inquiries and suggestions via its unified number 19929 or by visiting the website tga.gov.sa.

OIC Secretary-General Discusses Latest Developments in Sudan with UN Representative

Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Hissein Brahim Taha discussed yesterday with head of the United Nations Integrated Mission in Sudan Volker Perthes developments in Sudan over the phone.

Mikdad: Syria supports the One-China principle

Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Fayssal Mikdad, met on Saturday the Special representative of the Chinese Government for the Middle East affairs Zhai Jun and the accompanying delegation .

During the meeting, Minister Mikdad renewed Syria’s support for the territorial integrity of China and the one-China principle , rejecting in this regard the attempts of some countries to interfere in China’s domestic affairs.

In turn, the Chinese envoy expressed his appreciation for the achievements made by Syria, a country friendly to China, and China’s rejection of all attempts to interfere in its internal affairs, reiterating his country’s support for Syria’s unity, sovereignty and independence.

European writers and journalists call for lifting the unjust Western siege on Syria

Several European writers and journalists affirmed, during a dialogue meeting in the Arab Writers Union, supporting Syria and standing by it, calling for lifting the unjust Western siege on the Syrian people.

The meeting, which was held in cooperation with the World Organization for the Support of People’s Sovereignty, under the title “Have the Europeans stopped following American policy?” included discussing many political and humanitarian issues, in addition to helping the victims of the earthquake hit Syria last February

Head of the Organization, researcher and member of the Writers Union, Adnan Azzam, pointed out in his speech to the importance of the European delegation standing by Syria, as it is the source of civilizations.

For his part, Head of the Arab Writers Union, Dr. Muhammad al-Hourani, indicated in a statement to reporters that the meeting is part of the union’s work with the aim of informing the West of the truth about what happened during the terrorist war on Syria and the unjust siege on it, indicating that relations with writers and media professionals contribute to Uncover the truth.

Pope Francis calls on Europe to embrace migrants

Pope Francis has clearly outlined his vision on Europe and immigration in his first main speech during a visit to Hungary.

Addressing representatives of the Hungarian government and civil society at the former Carmelite monastery in Budapest on Friday, the head of the Catholic Church promoted the European dream and called for a humane approach in dealing with migrants and refugees.

Three pilots killed when two US military helicopters crashed in central Alaska

Three pilots were killed when two attack helicopters of the US Army crashed in central Alaska, while they were returning from a training mission.

The army announced, according to news agencies, that the two planes crashed after their participation in military exercises in Alaska, in the second such accident in less than a month.

The army statement quoted the US Army’s 11th Airborne Division as saying that the two Apache helicopters crashed near Hili, Alaska.

Eyewitnesses said today, Friday, that the fighting between the Sudanese army forces and the Rapid Support Forces continues in parts of the capital, Khartoum, on the first day of the renewal of the truce for an additional 72 hours.

Eyewitnesses said, according to “Sputnik” Agency, that the sounds of an explosion and the use of anti-aircraft guns were heard in separate parts of the capital, Khartoum, on the first day of the renewal of the truce.

On Thursday evening, the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces announced their agreement to extend the truce for 72 hours.

A commercial ship came under fire near the coast of Yemen.

The United Kingdom’s Maritime Trade Operations Agency said on Friday it had received reports of a ship being attacked south of the Yemeni coastal town of Nishtun.

It added: that shots were fired at the ship, adding that three boats were also seen, each with three or four people on board.
