Baghdad The President of the Republic, Dr. Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, arrived today, Wednesday, in Dohuk Governorate.

He was received by the Governor of Dohuk, Dr. Ali Tatar, and a number of senior officials in the province.

The President’s visit to the province is scheduled to witness a number of meetings and events.

Thaer Mukhaif reveals to NINA the main reasons for the refusal of the political blocs to approve the military service law

Baghdad Member of the Coordinating Framework, MP for the State of Law Coalition, Thaer Mukhaif, revealed the main reasons for the refusal of the political blocs to approve the flag service law.

Mukhaif said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA /: The political blocs rejected the draft law on serving the flag for several reasons, the most important of which is that it pays annually 7 million young men to enlist throughout Iraq, which needs huge funds estimated at 34 trillion dinars annually if the salary of the conscript is 600 thousand Dinars, and this will drain the state’s resources as salaries, except for building camps and food.

He added, as there is currently sagging in the joints of all security forces, and this matter requires a slimming, and not additions in number to those forces.

Yesterday, the Prime Minister announced the withdrawal of the Military Service Bill from the House of Representatives.

Baghdad The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, met, in the city of Erbil, the Speaker of the Kurdistan Region Parliament, Rewaz Faeq Hussein.

During the meeting, the President of the Republic stressed, according to a presidential statement, the importance of the oversight role of Parliament, as it is considered the link between the citizen claiming his rights and government agencies and institutions, leading to achieving his aspirations and securing his needs.

The relationship between the Parliament of the Kurdistan region and the Iraqi Council of Representatives was also discussed, and the importance of enhancing positive communication to overcome obstacles and deepen the bonds of cooperation between the region and the center in order to achieve the aspirations of all people for a free, dignified, stable, security and economic life.

Baghdad The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Rashid, and the Vice President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Qubad Talabani, discussed today, Tuesday, unifying positions, strengthening cooperation and bringing views closer between Baghdad and Erbil.

A presidential statement stated that “Rashid met with Qubad Talabani in the city of Erbil, and they discussed political developments on the Iraqi scene in light of the formation of the new federal government and the consequent developments in terms of relations between the region and the center in the next stage.”

It continued, “The meeting discussed the tireless efforts made by the President of the Republic in converging views to reach solutions to outstanding issues between the federal government and the regional government.”

The President of the Republic stressed, “the need to unify positions and strengthen cooperation and coordination between the political forces in order to guarantee constitutional entitlements for all components of the people.”

NATO warns of difficult months for Ukraine

Baghdad The Secretary-General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, Jens Stoltenberg, stressed on Monday that the coming months will be difficult for Ukraine, and the Russian military capacity should not be underestimated.

After meeting with the Dutch Foreign and Defense Ministers, Stoltenberg said that the withdrawal of Russian forces from Kherson reflects the tremendous courage of the Ukrainian armed forces, but we should not make the mistake of underestimating Russia.

He added: The Russian armed forces retain great capabilities and a large number of soldiers, and Russia has shown its willingness to bear heavy losses.

Muhannad Al-Khazraji: Parliament will monitor the performance of all ministries

Baghdad The MP of the State of Law Coalition, Muhannad Al-Khazraji, confirmed: “The House of Representatives will work to monitor the performance of all ministries within a period of time in order to advance the deteriorating service reality in the country.”

He said in a press statement: “The immediate stage requires a wide and field movement, in order to dismantle the nests of corruption, destroy the nests of the supporters of them, and talk frankly to the Iraqi people about the truth of their corruption, in order to establish a new stage that contributes to developing and reviving the social and economic reality for the people of the country who deserve a standard of living that is similar to those countries that own Iraq’s oil resources.

In this regard, he referred to the visit of Prime Minister Muhammad Al-Sudani to Al-Kadhimiya Governmental Hospital, describing it as “a positive move in terms of identifying the deficiencies and failures that affected the health institution in Iraq.”

He added: “The sudden visit that he made is similar to the beginnings of demolishing the beds of corruption in this health institution, which the Iraqi people suffer from due to the absence of actual services.”

The Foreign Minister receives the Chinese Ambassador and confirms Iraq’s participation in the Arab-Chinese summit to be held in Saudi Arabia

Baghdad Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fouad Hussein received today, Sunday, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Iraq, Cui Wei.

A statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that during the meeting, they discussed means of strengthening relations, and prospects for upgrading bilateral cooperation in a way that benefits the two friendly peoples.

The Minister stressed that Iraq is interested in strengthening coordination and cooperation frameworks with Beijing at all levels, and that China is an important country for the Iraqi oil market, noting the need to increase the volume of investments in the fields of energy and infrastructure.

The Minister stressed that the government stresses the importance of distinguished cooperation and continuous coordination in various fields and at all levels.

They also discussed regional issues of common interest, the overall developments in the Middle East, and Iraq’s vision of a solution mechanism and an end to the crises afflicting the region.

The two sides discussed the Arab-Chinese summit to be held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the full preparation for this summit, stressing Iraq’s participation in it.

For his part, the Chinese Ambassador conveyed the greetings of the Chinese Foreign Minister to the minister, congratulating him on forming the new government, and renewing confidence in him as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq, stressing the continuity of work in the framework agreement between Iraq and China and China’s support for the new government.

In conclusion, the Minister extended his thanks and appreciation to the Government of the People’s Republic of China for the Chinese aid to be provided to Basra Governorate.

Bahrain-Saudi relations stressed

Sharm El Sheikh, Minister of Oil and Environment, Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Bin Daina met Saudi Arabia Climate Envoy and Foreign Affairs Minister Adel bin Ahmed Al Jubeir on the sidelines of the 27th session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 27).

Bin Daina emphasized the historical Bahrain-Saudi relations that reflect the successful level of cooperation in all fields thanks to the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

The minister praised Saudi Araba’s Green Middle East initiative aimed at protecting the environment and facing climate challenges, and stressed Bahrain’s support.

He pointed to Bahrain’s announcement to reach zero neutrality by 2060.

Al Jubeir stressed bilateral relations in various fields and noted the importance of exchanging information and experiences to achieve sustainable development goals.

The Minister stressed the need for joint international and regional cooperation to confront the immediate global challenges, most notably the continuation of combating terrorism and extremism, addressing economic fluctuations and health crises, and confronting severe climate changes that pose a threat to all.

The Minister offered his condolences for the assassination of an American citizen in Baghdad last week, and stressed that investigations are continuing to uncover the perpetrators and bring them to justice, and when investigations reach their final results, they will be announced.

For her part, US Ambassador to the United States, Alina Romanowski, congratulated the minister on the occasion of forming the new government and renewing confidence in him as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq, stressing her country’s continuous support for Iraq in various fields, especially in the fight against the terrorist gangs and the climate changes.
