DAOU VISITS EUROPEAN UNION, IRISH MISSIONS IN NEW YORK

MP Mark Daou visited the Irish Mission to the United Nations in New York, offering condolences to the Ambassador of the Mission on the death of one of the Irish battalion soldiers operating in southern Lebanon, hailing the sacrifices and the enormous role of UNIFIL and Ireland’s commitment to supporting Lebanon since 1978 through its battalion within the scope of the United Nations’ work.

The meeting touched on commitment to UN Resolution # 1701 and adherence to border security in Lebanon and the impact of the situation in the region on the work of UNIFIL.

Daou continued his tour by visiting the European Union Mission, where latest developments and the prevailing conditions in Lebanon were presented with the European Union envoy to the United Nations, Alexandre Stutzmann.

MP Daou later toured the United Nations building, accompanied by members of the Lebanese diplomatic mission there.
