Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Calls For Arms To Be Confined to the Hands of the State

Deputy Speaker of Parliament Shakhwan Abdullah called on the federal government to take into account the interests of the people, implement the constitution, and limit arms to the state.


Abdullah said in a statement on the anniversary of the Prophet’s birthday: “We offer the best congratulations and blessings and send them to the Islamic nation and all Muslims around the world and to the honorable standing of our Iraqi people on the occasion of the birth of guidance, the pride of beings, the seal of the prophets, the master of the messengers, and our intercessor on the Day of Judgment, the most honorable prophet, our example (Muhammad), may God’s prayers be upon him and upon His pure family and all his companions.


He added, “On this occasion dear to the hearts of all believers, we renew the call for tolerance, brotherhood and reconciliation, and renounce differences and problems, and that we all pray to the Creator of the heavens and the earth and the Almighty, to bestow upon our homeland and our people abundant goodness, blessing and harmony, and in this critical and difficult stage that our country is going through from problems and crises we call on political and national forces to join hands and cooperate and continue dialogues and understandings on the basis of the supreme national interest to get out of the political crisis and the state of blockage.


He continued: “We call on the federal government to make more national efforts and endeavors to consolidate security and stability, take into account the interests of the people, preserve diversity and social fabric, implement the constitution, limit arms to the state, impose the rule of law on all, strengthen the foundations of democracy and the federal system, implement reforms to combat corruption, provide services to citizens, and achieve justice and equality
