HAMIEH: LEBANESE RESCUE TEAM HEADED TO SYRIA

Caretaker Minister of Public Works and Transportation, Ali Hamieh, on Tuesday announced that a joint team form the Lebanese Red Cross, the Beirut Fire Brigade, the Civil Defense, the army and the disaster management authority headed to Syria this morning to help in the search and rescue operations following the deadly earthquake that rocked the neighboring nation yesterday.

Interviewed by Voice of All Lebanon radio station, Hamieh described the tremor as a “humanitarian catastrophe.”
