The Jordanian government welcomed today the signing by the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces of a preliminary agreement in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, under the auspices of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States of America.
The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its hope that the agreement and the humanitarian obligations arising from it related to the protection of civilians and respect for the rules of international humanitarian law would represent a first step to be followed by other steps that contribute to the return of security and stability to Sudan, in a way that meets the aspirations of the Sudanese people for security and political and economic stability.
