MP Arshad Al-Salehi: The Iraqi people, with their solidarity, defeated terrorist groups

Kirkuk Chairman of the Human Rights Committee in the Parliament, Member of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, MP Arshad Al-Salehi, confirmed that the terrorist groups in Iraq have practiced the most severe and violent forms of repression, abuse, killing, destruction and absenteeism, as well as confiscating opinion and trying to split the national ranks and sow discord among the components, sects and religions of this people.

He said, “If it were not for the solidarity and unity of the Iraqis, their cooperation, and their rejection of all kinds of extremism and all its manifestations, images, and abhorrent garments, we would not have defeated them, and Iraq today is living in a state of understanding and deep awareness of these challenges that it faces.”

This came in the speech of the Republic of Iraq delivered by Al-Salehi, before the 146th General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, held in the Kingdom of Bahrain during the period from 11 to 15 March, where the work of the Assembly is being held to discuss the topic “Promoting peaceful coexistence and inclusive societies: to combat intolerance.

He continued, “The world must pay attention to the experience for which the Iraqis sacrificed precious blood and overcame the great difficulties and difficult times, and today they are fully aware of the damages of this tendency and the heavy losses it costs, and the Iraqis have decided not to return in any form to this stage and to confront blind terrorism wherever it is., and everyone should draw lessons and lessons from what they presented, and remember the sacrifices and martyrs.”

Al-Salehi extended his abundant thanks and great appreciation to the Kingdom of Bahrain, king, government and people, for organizing this rich international parliamentary gathering that included active discussions, whose importance came at the same time from the topic of values research to provide clear answers to critical and urgent questions that may contribute to finding urgent and radical solutions for the world’s suffering from the danger of religious, political and social fanaticism, and to give an opportunity to enhance cooperation and peaceful coexistence among different peoples, cultures and civilizations.

He stressed that our world has suffered in the past two decades from successive economic, social and cultural crises that had a direct impact on the reality of local and international societies and caused severe cracks in the global fabric and negatively reflected on the reality of security and safety of peoples and helped to produce racist conflicts at various political, social, cultural and even economic levels. The forms of communication in their human dimensions were disturbingly damaged due to the shattering of trust and the resorting of fragile groups and groups to take refuge in addresses outside the context of the state, law and public order after the failure of the regimes to secure a safe and stable life for them after the incursion of armed groups into local communities in some countries.

He noted that the escalation of tension in the world today has brought us to the brink of the abyss, after the supremacy of hate speech in media and political influence platforms, and the failure to direct this speech through international legislation and laws.
