MP considers al-Sudani’s decision towards Yazidis “brave and patriotic”, and an important gesture in distributing constitutional rights

The MP of the Sadiqun Bloc, Zainab Jumaa Al-Mousawi, appreciated the Iraqi government’s decision to grant the Yazidis ownership of lands, describing the decision as “patriotic and courageous.”

She said in a statement, “The Yazidis are the flavor of the land of Iraq, and their rights are obligatory, like the rest of the religions and sects of the Iraqi people,” adding that “the government of Muhammad al-Sudani worked on their rights after his predecessor, Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, was unable to provide their most basic rights despite his unfulfilled promises.”

She pointed out, “The decision is brave, patriotic, and an important gesture in distributing constitutional rights to our brothers of the Yazidi religion by the current government, which faced all kinds of missteps.”

Al-Moussawi indicated that “the decision of the Council of Ministers to own the Yazidi component of residential land came in response to the arbitrary policies of the defunct regime, which refused to do so.”
