OIC Condemns Violence Against Muslims in Several Indian States

The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) said that it followed with great concern the acts of violence and vandalism targeting Muslims in several states in the Republic of India during the Ram Navami rituals, including the burning of a religious school and its library by a mob of Hindu extremists in Bihar Sharif, on March 31, 2023.

The OIC General Secretariat condemned the provocative acts of violence and vandalism, describing them as a clear sign of growing Islamophobia and systematic targeting of Muslims in India. It called on the Indian authorities to take firm measures against the instigators and perpetrators of such acts, and to ensure the safety, rights, and dignity of Muslims in India.
