The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), H. E. Hissein Brahim Taha on 25 October 2022 met the Chairwoman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Ms Valentina Matviyenko, as part of his official Visit to the Russian capital Moscow.
The two parties discussed issues common interest including Africa food security and women empowerment.
The OIC Secretary-General also met with Rushan Abbyasov, Vice President of the Council of Muftis of Russia and the Patriarch Kirill / Metropolitan of Kazan and Tatarstan(Patriarchy of the Russian Orthodox Church).
During the meetings, the two sides emphasized the significance of inter-religious and intercultural dialogues and understanding.
