Baghdad, The MP of Najaf Governorate, Ahmed Majeed Al-Sharmani, called on the Prime Minister to form an investigation committee regarding the management of Al-Najaf International Airport.

Al-Sharmani said, in a press conference today, Tuesday, “We addressed the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia’ al-Sudani, in the month of November 2022 regarding Najaf International Airport, and no action was taken by the Prime Minister, as this institution suffers from problems, affiliation, and corruption at the airport.”

He added, “There are five points about the suffering of Najaf Airport, which are settling the airport’s internal and external debts, restructuring the airport according to international foundations and standards, determining the airport’s ownership and reference, determining the annual revenue percentage of the airport allocated for the reconstruction of the city of Najaf, resolving all corruption files and recovering stolen funds in accordance with the law.”

He explained, “Al-Sudani committed himself to the public and the political blocs that he would fight corruption and considered the corruption pandemic stronger than the Corona pandemic.”
