Public Security Chief: Promoting historical fraternal ties between GCC countries is top priority

Riyadh, Chief of Public Security, Lt-General Tariq Al Hassan, has chaired the Interior Ministry delegation at the Gulf Security Directors-General meeting in Riyadh.

In a speech, the Chief expressed best wishes to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Crown Prince and the Saudi people on the Kingdom’s National Day. He highlighted that the day is an opportunity to appreciate the pioneering accomplishments of Saudi Arabia and its role in promoting regional security and supporting Arab and Islamic causes.

The Chief conveyed the greetings and appreciation of Interior Minister, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, and his best wishes for further security cooperation and coordination success. He asserted the importance of the Gulf and brotherly ties as a top priority to the kingdom, in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

He said that the ever-changing security challenges in the Gulf region require the continuation of a joint approach to protect security and general safety through preparedness and unification of concepts in confronting risks. He highlighted the importance of joint exercises to promote expertise and Gulf security operations. He asserted the exchange of successful strategic experiences, proactive plans, scenarios and information to promote Gulf security operations.

The meeting reviewed various topics, including awareness security programmes and the exchange of expertise in fighting organised crimes, cybercrime and frauds.

The delegation included the Director-General of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science, Assistant Chief of Public Security for Operations and Training Affairs, Coast Guard Commanders and Director of Security Cooperation.
