Baghdad Deputy Speaker of Parliament Shakhwan Abdullah Ahmed received today, Monday, a sports delegation from the Iraqi international referees and the first class of the Iraqi Football Association.
The meeting, according to a statement by the office of the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, reviewed the reality of sports and youth in the country, the size of the challenges, supporting activities and events by all means, and the role of arbitration in the success of matches, as well as discussing the importance of upgrading this vital sector and efforts to support sports, developing sports clubs and providing stadiums and equipment as befit the history of Iraq.
Abdullah affirmed the Parliament’s continued support for the sports and youth sector with the necessary laws and legislation, praising the level of sports cooperation and the continuation of sports activities between the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Olympic Committee with its counterparts in the Kurdistan Region in a way that enhances the spirit of citizenship and stability and directs the energies and talents of youth.
