The European Parliament condemns the Iranian attacks on the Kurdistan region

Baghdad The European Parliament condemned the Iranian missile and drone attacks on the Kurdistan region, which killed two people and injured 8 others.

The Head of the European Parliament’s delegation for relations with Iraq, Sarah Skytedal, expressed in a statement today, Friday, her “strong” condemnation of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard attack on the Kurdistan region, stressing that it is “a flagrant violation of Iraq’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.”

Sarah Skytedal stressed that “there is no justification for such an act of violence against the territory of a sovereign country,” calling on all parties to “exercise restraint and avoid undermining the democratic transition in Iraq.”

The head of the European Parliament’s mission for relations with Iraq affirmed the European Parliament’s support for “the Iraqi people, the Iraqi government and the Kurdistan Regional Government.”

It is noteworthy that the headquarters of the Kurdistan Democratic Party – Iran (Hadka), in Koysanjak, and the headquarters of the Revolutionary Association of Kurdistan Toilers and the Association of Toilers of Kurdistan of Iran in Zarkwiz, Sulaymaniyah Governorate, were bombed on Monday morning (November 14, 2022).
