Turkish Defense Minister criticizes Western countries for supporting the PKK

Istanbul Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar strongly criticized Western countries for their support for the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and its armed wings.

Hulusi Akar said during his tour of a number of Turkish army sites stationed on the Syrian border today, accompanied by a group of Turkish army leaders: “The snakes that France nurtured and took care of started to bite them,” and that everyone should realize the true face of the terrorist organization of the PKK.

He added, “They have seen with their own eyes the seriousness of supporting and sponsoring terrorists, and here are the snakes that France supported are now biting them.”

Akar stressed that Ankara’s Western allies made a big mistake when they cooperated with the “PKK/YPG” organization (one of the Labor Party’s wings in northern Syria) to eliminate another terrorist organization (the terrorist organization ISIS).

Akar stressed that Turkey will continue to combat the PKK organization in northern Iraq and Syria, and that Turkey is fully committed to respecting the territorial integrity of neighboring countries, and that its main goal is to eliminate terrorism.
