Jordan Supports All Steps Taken by Saudi Arabia to Protect its Security, Stability and Interests

Amman, The Jordanian government affirmed today that it supports all steps taken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to protect its security, stability and interests.

Official Spokesman of the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Sinan Al-Majali said that the ministry is following up on reactions to the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries Plus (OPEC+) decision to cut production.

Ambassador Al-Majali added that this is a technical issue related to oil market stability and its requirements, regulating supply and demand and protecting the interests of both producers and consumers, that should be approached on technical basis within its economic context, away from political bickering that does not serve common goals and interests.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirms Iraq’s support for the decision to reduce oil production

Baghdad The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced Iraq’s support for the decision of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) regarding the reduction of oil production.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement: “It is following up the reactions to the decision of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC +) regarding the reduction of oil production, and the interactions that the decision reflected.”

The Ministry affirmed: “The path that has been relied upon within the organization, expresses a technical vision related to the stability of the oil markets and its requirements, regulating the supply and demand process, and protecting the interests of producers and consumers, and it must be approached on technical grounds, in its economic context and with a collective agreement among OPEC + members.”

The Foreign Ministry stressed that it rejects any policy aimed at threats or pressure, and supports the position of the organization, especially the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

It stressed the need to address every dispute concerning this issue through natural means and in the context of direct and balanced dialogue, reflecting the importance of international partnership in efforts to establish security and stability in the region and the world.

Riyadh, The Saudi Business Center received here today a number of Gulf entrepreneurs, who were briefed on the services provided by the Center in integration with the business sector partners in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The visit came on the sidelines of the “Gulf Entrepreneurs Forum” organized by the Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority (Monsha’at) under the patronage of Minister of Commerce and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Business Center Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi.

Djibouti Expresses Solidarity with the Kingdom over Statements Issued about OPEC Decision to Reduce Oil Production

Riyadh, The Republic of Djibouti expressed its full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia regarding the statements issued in the wake of the “OPEC” decision to reduce oil production, supporting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s stance and clarifications with regard to the decision which was taken unanimously by the member states of the group for purely technical and economic considerations in order to maintain stability international oil markets.

Djibouti appreciated the Kingdom’s position and pivotal role in maintaining the stability of oil markets throughout history and contributing to addressing economic challenges, hailing the Kingdom’s wise diplomacy in accordance with the principle of mutual respect among the states and the promotion of common interests.

South Korea, Saudi Arabia agree to boost ties in new industry fields

Seoul, South Korea and Saudi Arabia have agreed to strengthen cooperation in hydrogen, entertainment and other new industry fields, as well as the overall economy, Seoul’s industry ministry said.

The agreement was reached during a virtual meeting between Industry Minister Lee Chang-yang and Saudi Arabia’s investment minister Khalid Al-Falih, according to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Korean news agency Yonhap reported.

The two sides shared the notion that their nations have made “practical achievement” in such various fields as energy, digital, smart infrastructure and health care through active discussions via the Vision 2030 Committee platform established in 2017.

Based on the results, they agreed to hold a fourth round of the committee meeting at an early date to explore fresh joint projects, including those on the transition to a zero-emission economic system and digital content, the ministry said.

“The two ministers vowed to upgrade their economic cooperative ties, as the two nations marked the 60th anniversary of their diplomatic relation this year,” the ministry said in a release.

Al-Sudani to Mikati: The next government will strengthen Iraq’s relations with its brothers in the Arab countries

Baghdad Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani received a phone call from Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati, while the first confirmed that his government will strengthen Iraq’s relations with its brothers in the Arab countries.

Mikati, according to a statement by the Prime Minister-designate’s office, extended his congratulations to Al-Sudani on the occasion of his assignment to head the next government, expressing his hope that it will be a government that meets the aspirations of the Iraqi people for development and prosperity.

During the call, they discussed relations between the two brotherly countries and the consolidation of means of joint cooperation in many fields.

Al-Sudani stressed that the next government will strengthen Iraq’s relations with its brethren in the Arab countries, and will develop mechanisms of mutual cooperation in more programs and agreements.

Al-Araji to the Norwegian Ambassador: Iraq is keen not to be a party to the Russian-Ukrainian crisis

Baghdad The National Security Adviser, Qassem Al-Araji, received in his office today, Tuesday, the Norwegian Ambassador in Baghdad, Espen Lind Beck.

Al-Araji discussed with the Norwegian Ambassador, according to a statement by Al-Araji’s office, ways to strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries in all fields, in addition to discussing the political and security situations at the international and regional levels.

The meeting touched on the Ukrainian-Russian crisis, where Al-Araji stressed the importance of urging the parties to dialogue for the sake of peace in the region and the world, noting that Iraq is keen not to be a party to this battle, and that its position is to seek to persuade the parties to the crisis through dialogue.

The file of the Syrian al-Hol camp was also discussed, where al-Araji pointed to Iraq’s need for the international community to stand with it more, to dismantle this camp, stressing the importance of the international community remaining cohesive in the face of terrorism and drying up its financial, human and media sources.

Al-Araji discussed the seriousness of the drug phenomenon in societies, stressing work with the legal authorities to amend the anti-drug law and tighten the penalties for this crime.

For his part, the Norwegian Ambassador affirmed his country’s keenness to maintain the partnership with Iraq, through Operation Solid Resolve and NATO, expressing his country’s readiness to cooperate with Iraq in the areas of information exchange, combating terrorism and organized crime.

Mosul Nineveh Governor Najm al-Jubouri announced the arrival of 100 families from the Syrian Al-Hol camp to Al-Jada’a Center in Nineveh Governorate, 60 km south of Mosul, to be included in the rehabilitation program.

Al-Jubouri told the National Iraqi Agency / NINA / that “100 families of the families of the Syrian Al-Hol camp returned to the rehabilitation center in Al-Jada’a, to rehabilitate them before returning them to their areas, indicating that” there are other batches of these families, with a large number, that will also arrive early next month and will be admitted to Al-Jada’a camp in the south of Mosul.

Head of the Antir-Terrorism Service to the Commander of the NATO Mission: The Service changed the rules of the game in defeating terrorism

Baghdad The Head of the Anti-Terrorism Service, General Abdul-Wahab Al-Saadi, confirmed: “The Service has changed the rules of the game in the war with ISIS, after it introduced special and innovative tactics.”

During his meeting with the Commander of the NATO mission in Iraq, Lieutenant-General Giovanni Iannucci, Al-Saadi stressed the need to cooperate with the armies and advanced special operations teams to exchange experiences and information in aspects related to combating terrorism and curbing extremist ideology.

He reviewed, according to a statement by the Service, the most prominent qualitative operations carried out by the Service in the last two years and the awards obtained by the Iraqi Special Operations fighters through their participation in the International Warrior Championship and the “Eager Lion” exercise, which was admired by the participating teams, which confirmed through an official document that the Service is the best team that might take part in this exercise.”

The two sides discussed the possibility of establishing a special naval force affiliated to the Anti-terrorist apparatus specialized in carrying out qualitative operations and based on physical and mental preparation, and its development would be according to modern and sound foundations that keep pace with the development taking place at the level of the armies of the world.

KSrelief Signs Two Agreements Worth USD 10 Million with WHO, UNICEF to Prevent, Combat Spread of Measles, Polio in Several Countries

Berlin, King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) yesterday, on the sidelines of the World Health Summit 2022 in Berlin, signed two agreements with the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF to prevent and combat the spread of measles and polio in several countries.

Advisor at the Royal Court and Supervisor General of KSrelief Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Rabeeah signed the agreements with WHO Director General Tedros Adhanom and UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell.

The first agreement, signed with WHO, aims at preventing the spread of measles and polio in Somalia, Sudan and Iraq, benefiting 12,076,185 individuals with a value of USD5 million, where the agreement also seeks to support the cooling chains to store vaccinations through electric generators or using solar panels, securing vaccination, medical devices and lab items, in addition to covering operational costs for vaccination campaigns and supporting the program through hiring experts from WHO.

Meanwhile, the second agreement signed with UNICEF aims at contributing to combating polio and measles in Congo, Central Africa, Guinea, Afghanistan, and Pakistan, benefiting 2,095,102 individuals with a value of USD5 million, where the agreement also seeks to support the cooling chains to store vaccinations through electric generators or using solar panels, securing vaccination, medical devices and lab items, in addition to covering operational costs for vaccination campaigns and supporting the program through hiring experts from UNICEF.

Following the signing ceremony, Dr. Al Rabeeah stressed the pivotal role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the relief and humanitarian fields in the world, where Saudi Arabia has always supported the needy and afflicted countries out of its belief in the importance of the humanitarian and relief work, noting that the two agreements are part of supporting international efforts to prevent and limit the outbreak of polio and measles for millions of children in beneficiary countries, and commending the strategic partnership between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and WHO and UNICEF.

A gang arrested for shoplifting in Baquba

Baquba The police arrested a gang specialized in shoplifting, west of Baquba, Diyala governorate center.

A security source told the correspondent of the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA): “The security forces arrested a gang that carried out robberies targeting shops and homes in the western areas of Baqubah.”

He added, “The gang includes five individuals, who have been referred to the relevant investigative authorities.”
