Casio to Release Flare Red Models for G-SHOCK 40th Anniversary Kickoff

Evoking Solar Flares with Multicolor Laminated Bezel Featuring Phosphorescent Particles

G-SHOCK got its start with a single-page plan to construct a watch that wouldn’t break, even if dropped. It debuted in 1983 with a shock-resistant construction that overturned conventional wisdom on the fragility of wristwatches.

The 40th anniversary Flare Red models, the MTG-B3000FR and GWG-2040FR, feature multicolor laminated bezels made with phosphorescent materials in the red G-SHOCK brand color. The design evokes solar flares, the massive eruptions of intense energy from the sun’s surface. Casio used a newly developed technique to laminate carbon and colored glass fiber sheets together and hew them into bezel form. Phosphorescent particles mixed into the glass fiber sheets create powerful designs that are stunning even in the dark. Health Organizes 1st Public Relations & Media Forum

The Ministry of Health (MOH), represented by the Public Relations Department and Communication & Media Department organized today (Thursday) the First Public Relations & Media Forum under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Fatma bint Mohammed Al-Ajmi, MOH Undersecretary for Administrative, Financial & Planning Affairs in Sheraton Hotel.

A number of heads of public relations and patient services departments along with social media accounts administrators from all the Sultanate’s Governorates attended the Forum.

Adel bin Hamoud Al-Lamki, Director of Public Relations in the Ministry of Health touched upon the significant efforts of the two departments in highlighting the Ministry’s services to enhance the health system in the Sultanate of Oman.

He also stressed the vital role of public relations and communication and media in linking the Ministry to the outward, which presents the Ministry in the best image.

Furthermore, Al-Lamki, pointed out that the Forum aims to standardize concepts and efforts, as well as discuss the challenges facing the specialists in this field.

Iraq and South Korea discuss cooperation in the health field

Baghdad Minister of Health, Dr. Hani Al-Aqabi, received the South Korean Ambassador to Iraq Joy Sang-soo and the delegation accompanying him at the Ministry’s headquarters today, Thursday.

A statement by the Ministry said that during the meeting, they discussed strengthening relations between the two countries in the health field, exchanging medical scientific expertise and assigning health projects, systems and programs in Iraq.

The Minister of Health also discussed areas that will be worked on, including the treatment of cancerous diseases, cooperation in the field of public health, disease prevention, and infrastructure development in Iraq.

For his part, the South Korean Ambassador praised the role of the Iraqi Ministry of Health in facing the Corona pandemic, stressing the continuation of supporting health projects in Iraq and strengthening health cooperation between the two countries.

Civil Defense puts out a fire that broke out in a giant electrical transformer in Wasit Governorate

Kut The civil defense teams put out a fire that broke out inside its transformer with a capacity of (25) megawatts at Al-Hindiya Power Station in Wasit Governorate.

The Director of Civil Defense in Wasit, Brigadier General Samir Razzaq, told the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that the fire was brought under control and prevented it from spreading to the rest of the station without causing casualties.

He explained that the cause of the fire was a technical accident that led to an electrical short and a fire.

Ali Al-Delfi to / NINA /: Passing a full ministerial cabinet in the middle of next week

Baghdad Representative Ali Gharkan Al-Delfi suggested passing the cabinet in the middle of next week.

He told the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that some partial differences are still within the same component over the distribution of Ministries entrusted to it.

Al-Dalfi added: These differences will not be resolved if the session takes place next Saturday, and a vote on a full ministerial cabinet will be held in the middle of the same week.

Riyadh, His Royal Highness Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Higher Committee for the Saudi Green Initiative announced the second editions of the Middle East Green Initiative (MGI) Summit and the Saudi Green Initiative (SGI) Forum, held under the theme ‘From ambition to action’, taking place next month in tandem with COP27 in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.

The MGI Summit will be held on 7 November and the SGI Forum will be held on 11-12 November, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

HRH the Crown Prince said: “I would like to thank His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and the Egyptian government for hosting the MGI Summit and SGI Forum in Egypt this year. We are holding them in tandem with COP27, an event bringing nations from around the world together under one roof, to advance global climate ambitions by inspiring joint activity at the local, regional, and international levels. Our partnership with Egypt reflects a shared belief in the importance of collaborative action to address the environmental and climate challenges facing the region and the world today.”

Building on the success of the inaugural Summit, which was hosted in Riyadh last year, the second edition of the MGI Summit will be held in conjunction with the COP27 World Leaders Summit, in partnership with Egypt. During the event the Kingdom will shed light on the key climate challenges facing the Middle East and North Africa Region, ensuring regional priorities are placed on the global stage.

The MGI Summit is a strategic regional platform that promotes cross-border cooperation, knowledge exchange and discussion between Heads of State, relevant government ministers and policy makers. The first-of-its kind summit contributes to accelerating the transition towards a green economy and building a more sustainable future for future generations.

The second edition of the SGI Forum will convene an elite lineup of climate experts and thought leaders to discuss the progress that has been made towards achieving the climate targets announced by the Kingdom last year. The theme of this year’s forum, ‘From ambition to action’, reflects Saudi Arabia’s determination to turn these targets into reality by catalyzing collective action to confront climate challenges that impact the entire world.

MGI and SGI were launched by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince in 2021 to enhance Saudi Arabia’s environmental action, in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.The initiatives demonstrate Saudi’s dedication to addressing environmental challenges facing the country and the region including high temperatures, low rainfall, dust storms and desertification. The launch of MGI and SGI also reflect the Kingdom’s commitment to advancing public health and improving the standard of living for its citizens and residents.

Under SGI, the Kingdom will plant 10 billion trees across the country and designate 30% of country’s land and sea territories as protected areas during the coming decades. In addition, Saudi Arabia has committed to reducing carbon emissions by 278 million tons annually by 2030. The national goals contribute to achieving regional targets set out by the Kingdom at the MGI Summit. These focus on reducing regional carbon emissions by more than 10% of global contributions and planting 50 billion trees across the region as part of the world’s largest afforestation program.

OIC Secretary-General Expresses Deep Concern at the Outbreak of Ebola in Uganda

OIC Secretary General H.E. Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha has expressed deep concern at the outbreak of the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) in the Republic of Uganda. The Secretary General commiserates with the Government and the people of Uganda as well as the families that have lost their dear ones in such circumstances. He commends the Government of Uganda and its international and regional partners for the efforts being made to control the potential spread of the epidemic.

The General Secretariat has full confidence in Uganda’s ability and experience in managing epidemics as demonstrated by the measures taken, so far, to limit the transmission of the disease.

The General Secretariat wishes to express it full solidarity with the Government of Uganda and appeals to the Member States, relevant OIC institutions and international partners to work with Uganda to plan, prepare and respond to the outbreak and other public health threats through resource sharing, regional efforts to build resilience capacity of human resources, strengthening laboratory systems, surveillance, treatment and care.

Saudi Arabia Participates in Polio Program Donors’ Conference in Berlin

Berlin, Adviser to the Royal Court and Supervisor General of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Rabeeah, Tuesday represented the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the works of the Polio Program Donors’ Conference in Berlin.

Dr. Al Rabeeah said, in his speech during the conference, that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is keen to assume its humanitarian responsibilities in combating measles and polio by contributions, through the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF), the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunisation (GAVI), amounted USD 57,666,667. It has also implemented projects to combat measles and polio in a number of countries with an amount of USD 15 million.

Dr. Al Rabeeah added that as an extension of the Kingdom’s efforts towards combating this epidemic, it signed two agreements to implement two projects to prevent and respond to the outbreak of measles and polio epidemics in high-risk countries, in partnership with WHO and UNICEF at an amount of USD 10 million.

KSrelief Signs Two Agreements to Operate Prosthetic and Rehabilitation Centers in Aden and Seiyun, Yemen

Riyadh, King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) signed two joint agreements to operate prosthetic and rehabilitation centers in the governorates of Aden and Sayun in Yemen, benefiting 6,135 individuals.

The two agreements were signed by the center’s Assistant Supervisor General of the Center for Operations and Programs, Engineer Ahmed bin Ali Al-Baiz, at the center’s headquarters in Riyadh.

Director of the Medical and Environmental Aid Department at KSrelief, Dr. Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Moallem, explained that under the agreements, physical rehabilitation services and follow-up will be provided for people with special needs to enable them to contribute to community service, adding that through these centers, patients will be diagnosed and the treatment plan will be determined for each patient separately, in addition to installing all types of prosthetic limbs, and providing functional rehabilitation service for prosthetic limbs with continuous follow-up.

Dr. Al-Moallem added that the agreements aim to raise the capabilities of the medical and technical staff professionally and scientifically and prepare them to deal with specific cases, and reduce the migration of specialized medical and technical cadres outside Yemen.

The agreements come as an extension of the humanitarian and relief projects provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the Center, to raise the capabilities of the health sector in Yemen and alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.
