Khazali Discusses With Al-Halbousi Ways To Speed Up The Approval Of The Budget

The Secretary-General of the Asayib Ahl al-Hal Movement, Qais Khazali, received in his office in the capital, Baghdad, Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi.

Khazali’s media office said, “During the meeting, they discussed the latest political developments and what resulted from the discussions within the House of Representatives regarding the articles of the financial budget law, stressing the need to pass the law as soon as possible because of its importance related to the lives of citizens and the completion of development projects in the country.”

It added, “The two parties also discussed the necessity of enacting important legislation and laws to advance the service and economic reality and interest in service projects and infrastructure.

The meeting was attended by the head of Al-Sadiqun parliamentary bloc, Adnan Faihan, who confirmed his bloc’s endeavor to resolve the financial budget law in a way that is fair to the rights of the Iraqi people.

PM Stresses the Historical and Geographical Importance Of Nineveh and Directs to supervise the Ministerial Service Projects There

The Prime Minister, Muhammad Al-Sudani, directed to supervise ministerial service projects in Nineveh.

The media office of the Prime Minister stated in a statement: “Al-Sudani chaired this morning, Monday, a meeting of the Supreme Committee for the Reconstruction of Nineveh Governorate, to follow up and review the progress of implementing service projects and rebuilding infrastructure in the center of the governorate, districts and sub-districts.”

Al-Sudani referred to “the historical importance and geographical location represented by Nineveh Governorate and the city of Mosul, and the suffering they experienced during the terrorist attack by ISIS gangs.”

The Prime Minister directed to continue to follow up and supervise ministerial service projects by the Executive Office for the Reconstruction of Nineveh with its new formation and work plan, as well as to follow up on local projects, the Reconstruction Fund, and projects funded by international organizations and agencies, and the need for coordination between the various projects.

Al-Sudani also directed the Executive Office for the Reconstruction of the Governorate to “devise an integrated plan for an integrated national campaign to remove the rubble and waste caused by terrorist acts and liberation operations, and to include the Old City in central Mosul, and the districts of Sinjar and Tal Afar.”

The meeting approved, according to the statement, “the initiation of the project for the reconstruction of the Nineveh International and Ashur hotels, as well as the project for the construction of the sixth and seventh bridges, and the Hawalli Street of the city of Mosul.”

The meeting examined the conditions of banking companies in the province, and the Central Bank of Iraq was directed to solve the problems and obstacles that prevent the return of these companies to fully practice their work and services to the citizens of the province.

Al-Sudani stressed during the meeting that “the conditions of the governorate now need to develop a future economic and social vision for it, which works to consolidate stability and sustain economic and living prosperity for its citizens.”

HM King receives Speaker, Shura Chairman; praises positive outcomes of executive-legislature cooperation

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received at the Safriya Palace today the Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, and Shura Council Chairman, Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh, following the issuance of the Royal Order (29) of 2023 on adjourning the first session of the sixth Legislative Term of the bicameral National Assembly.

HM the King expressed his appreciation to the Speaker, Shura Chairman and members of the National Assembly for their dedicated efforts to serving the Kingdom and its honourable people.

HM King Hamad praised their valuable contributions to promoting development paths and strengthening the pillars of national action throughout the first session of the sixth Legislative Term, citing their efforts to highlight the kingdom’s bright image and civilisational accomplishments.

His Majesty also commended the fruitful efforts exerted by the legislative branch to carry out its supervisory role and develop the system of laws and legislation that serve the country and meet its citizens’ needs.

HM King Hamad expressed his appreciation for the ongoing fruitful coordination between the legislative and executive branches, welcoming the recent agreements reached by them regarding the general state budget.

HM the King affirmed that the ultimate goal is to achieve the interests of the homeland and its citizens, as well as to provide them with all means of a decent life, stressing that the Bahraini citizens will always remain the core of the nation-building process and all the government’s projects and programmes.

His Majesty praised the two branches’ endeavours to improve the living standards of low and medium-income citizens, whose interests were taken into account in the agreed upon general state budget, stressing the importance of continuing to achieve the goals of financial sustainability and economic growth.

Speaker Al Musallam and Chairman Al Saleh affirmed that the kingdom’s development achievements were the fruitful outcomes of HM the King’s sound visions and the leadership, as well as HM’s unwavering support for enhancing the kingdoms’ progress and more prosperity.

They expressed their pride in the lofty directives of HM the King to consolidate efforts to build on the previous achievements, extending their thanks to HM King Hamad for his continuous support.

They affirmed that the fruitful legislature-executive cooperation is based on the directives of His Majesty the King and the follow up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

They stressed that HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s keenness to deepen the mechanisms of cooperation between the two branches has paved the way for exchanging views on the best means to continue achieving sustainable development and updating national legislation and laws to cope with the continuous progress and development in the Kingdom.

They pledged that the two chambers of the National Assembly will continue to harness their capabilities to bring about more legislative achievements, as well as to bring to light Bahrain’s distinguished prestigious status in various fields.

They affirmed efforts to build strategic and parliamentary partnerships with parliaments of other countries, in a way that would benefit to the Kingdom and brotherly and friendly countries.

Housing Minister leads Bahrain’s delegation to UN-Habitat meeting

Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, Amena bint Ahmed Al Romaihi, led Bahrain’s delegation to the inaugural meeting of the second session of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), which is held in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, from June 5 to 9.

The delegation comprises representatives from the Foreign Ministry, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning and Bahrain Centre for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (DERASAT).

The meeting was attended by Kenyan President William Ruto, the UN-Habitat Executive Director Maimunah Sharif and members of the General Assembly.

The speeches of the inaugural session cast light on the main issues to be discussed in the second session of the UN-Habitat and the efforts in implementing the new urban agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030.

The Minister of Housing and Urban Planning will address the session tomorrow Tuesday and highlight the kingdom’s efforts in implementing the SDGs 2030, specifically goal eleven which stipulates making cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable.

Housing Minister, Shaikh Zayed Housing Programme General Manager discuss cooperation

Amina bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, held a meeting with Mohammed Al Mansoory, General Manager of Shaikh Zayed Housing Programme at the United Arab Emirates.

The meeting came on the sidelines of the participation of the two delegations in the meetings of the second session of UN-Habitat, held in the Kenyan capital from June 5-9.

The two sides reviewed fraternal relations between Bahrain and the UAE and the efforts made in providing housing services to citizens. They also discussed coordinating efforts regarding issues on the UN-Habitat meeting agenda.

The Minister of Housing and Urban Planning highlighted partnership between the public and private sectors in Bahrain and its outcome in developing housing services.

The meeting also spotlighted the completion of the ministry’s pilot phase of the government land development rights programme, which includes 132 housing units.

Al Mansoory praised Bahrain’s efforts in developing its housing services for citizens and emphasized the importance of cooperation and exchanging expertise.
