A 4.8-magnitude earthquake strikes the coastal city of Mugla, southwestern Turkey

Istanbul The Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency announced that a 4.8-magnitude earthquake occurred this afternoon in the Koycegiz region of the coastal city of Mugla, southwestern Turkey.

In a statement, the Turkish Disasters and Emergency Management said that an earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale hit the Koycegiz district of Mugla city and occurred at 13:58 local time at a depth of 8.11 km below the surface of the earth, and was felt by residents of neighboring areas.
