Istanbul A large fire broke out in one of the walls of the historic city of Constantinople, in the center of Istanbul, this Sunday afternoon.

A source in the Istanbul police said in a press statement that the firefighting teams rushed to the site of the fire and were able to put it out a short time after it broke out, and that minor damage was done to the fence, and that a preliminary investigation was opened to find out the causes of the fire.

It is noteworthy that the city of Constantinople was founded in 658 BC and was taken by the Roman Empire as its capital during the period from 335 to 395 AD and the capital of the Byzantine state from 395 to 1453 when it was opened by the Ottomans after several attempts in 1410 and 1422 , by entering the city, the city became the capital of the Ottoman Empire, and its name was changed in 1930 to Istanbul as part of Ataturk’s national reforms.
