Manama, The Kingdom of Bahrain welcomed the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under the direct support and follow-up of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, in releasing ten prisoners.
The released POWS are citizens of the Kingdom of Morocco, the United States of America, the United Kingdom, the Kingdom of Sweden, and the Republic of Croatia, as part of a prisoner exchange process between Russia and Ukraine.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed Bahrain’s appreciation and pride in the success of the mediation efforts of Saudi Arabia in releasing the prisoners in cooperation with the governments of Russia and Ukraine, and working to facilitate the procedures for their return to their countries.
It commended the move which is one of the leading diplomatic and humanitarian initiatives of HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud in ensuring the settlement of regional and international conflicts by diplomatic means, and supporting efforts to establish regional and global peace and stability.
