Association of Culture and Arts in Dammam Announces Winners of “International Video Art Forum”

Dammam– The Association of Culture and Arts in Dammam announced the winners of the fourth edition of the “International Video Art Forum” competition.

The competition lasted for five days, with the participation of more than 23 countries.

Artist Fran Orallo from Spain won the first place, artists Samar Baiomy and Mohamed Tarek from Egypt won the second place, and artist Safaa Al-Fahdi from Oman won the third place.

100 Brands Exhibition Debuts in New York City This Summer

New York– From July 26 through August 7, the Fashion Commission will showcase a curated exhibition featuring clothing and accessories from 100 Saudi designers at the Iron23 building in Manhattan. The exhibition, which first debuted in Riyadh late last year, is split into eight different categories that include ready-to-wear, modest, concept, premiere, demi-couture, bridal, handbags and jewelry. The 100 talented designers, chosen out of nearly 1500 entrants, were tasked with creating a piece that reflects Saudi heritage and culture.

Burak Cakmak, Saudi Arabia’s Fashion Commission CEO and former Dean of Fashion at Parsons School of Design – The New School, said: “This is the first international exhibition showcasing the diverse creative talent from the Kingdom and their exceptional designs rooted in Saudi heritage and culture. We have chosen New York as the first destination because New York City has always been a center of creativity that celebrates all different cultures around the world”.

The 100 Brands exhibition is part of a larger year-long program that aims to mentor Saudi designers and provide opportunities to showcase their work. Throughout the year, the 100 chosen designers will receive advice from fashion experts across the globe with one-on-one mentoring and informative workshops on topics including design, innovation, marketing and sales strategy.

The exhibition, which runs from July 26 through August 7, is free to the public and is open Monday through Wednesday from 11am – 7pm, Thursday through Saturday from 11am – 8pm and Sunday from 12pm – 6pm at Iron23, located on 29 W 23rd St.

Saudi-Jordanian “Abdullah 8” Mixed Naval Exercise Kicks off

Riyadh– The mixed joint naval exercise “Abdullah 8”, executed by the Royal Saudi Naval Forces, kicked off yesterday, with the participation of the Special Maritime Security Group in the Western Fleet and the Jordanian Special Forces.

The exercise aims to improve and develop the capacity of the participating units to respond quickly to counter terrorist activities, exchange expertise in combating terrorism and handle unexploded ordnance. It also aims to raise efficiency and combat readiness and unify operational concepts between the two sides in the stages of preparation, planning, and implementation.

Commander of the Western Fleet Rear Admiral Yahya bin Mohammed Asiri, confirmed that the exercise is an extension of the joint exercises between the two countries, adding that the drill includes two exercises that are launched simultaneously in Saudi Arabia and Jordan, as well as many other military activities.

Asiri said that the week-long exercise in the Western Fleet aims to strengthen and consolidate relations between the two countries in mixed military training, and to contribute to developing and raising the combat readiness of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces Units and Jordanian Special Operations, noting that the two sides will carry out various drills and military hypotheses using live ammunition.

The museum presents an introduction to the Prophet, Peace be upon him, his noble manners, his great morals, and the tolerant Sharia, through the latest means of displays and techniques, in all international languages to spread the message of mercy, love, moderation, justice, and tolerance.

Jeddah, July 15, 2022, SPA– Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Energy, has visited “ KSA Green Transition Journey Exhibition” held on the sidelines of Jeddah Security and Development Summit, in the presence of Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, Acting Minister of Media, where Prince Abdulaziz toured the latest preparations for the launch of the exhibition.

The exhibition focuses on the role of Saudi leadership in promoting green transformation within the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, starting with the necessary requirements and allocating sufficient investments, which represent a strategy that includes all development policies of the Kingdom, as the Kingdom occupies advanced positions in global indicators of environmental performance, which contributed to boosting its transformation into a center that leads the world in addressing the negative aspects of climate change.

The exhibition, which covers a total area of about 700 square meters, is held in the lobby of the main meeting room in the Convention Center of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Jeddah and includes seven sections, each of which focuses on highlighting one of the stages of transformation.

The exhibition visitors will get first-hand enlightenment on the Kingdom’s ” Saudi Green” and “Middle East Green” initiatives and their objectives, which were launched by HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defense and the subsequent initiatives, and the volume of investments in these two initiatives.

The exhibition also illustrates the circular carbon economy approach, which the Kingdom has adopted, and highlights the role and importance of the Kingdom as a responsible and reliable global supplier of energy supplies, and its efforts in conducting studies and research in various fields of the energy industry to enhance and develop its capabilities.

It will also shed the light on the most important features of the Kingdom’s orientation towards sustainability, including diversifying the resources of the national economy, developing strategic economic sectors, creating quality jobs, and attracting and encouraging national and foreign investments in 13 strategic economic sectors, including 54 companies, as the volume of targeted investments is expected at around SR1 trillion by 2025.

The exhibition utilizes various means of audio, visual, electronic, and interactive displays, in addition to showcasing “electric cars and others” with the deployment of Saudi male and female ushers to receive visitors and provide them with a full explanation of the exhibition and its topics.

KSrelief Distributes Over 34 Tons of Food Baskets in Saada Governorate, Yemen

Saada– King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) distributed on Saturday 34 tons and 240 kilograms of food baskets to the needy families in Saada Governorate, Yemen, benefiting 1,920 people.

This comes as part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s efforts, represented by the KSrelief, to support Yemeni food security and meet the basic needs of the Yemeni needy people.

Jeddah Season Introduces Activities of “Japanese Anime Village”, First of its Kind in the World

Jeddah– Japan’s global “Anime Village” events, the first of its kind in the world, attract visitors to the Jeddah season through its dazzling diverse activities, hosted in the “City Walk” area, with an array of shows, events, and various parties which will continue for 45 days, in the presence of Japanese figures and many fans of the famous anime event.

The Anime Village activities include the longest costume parade, cinema shows, DJ Zak, Manga artists, Otaku Hour, and many exciting Japanese shows.

The Jeddah Season management provided the “Anime Village” in City Walk with many facilities and services where the visitor can spend a remarkable journey in the world of art and entertainment with unique Japanese characters.
