A young man died as a result of a gunshot wound south of Hilla

A young man in his twenties died as a result of being shot by an unknown source while he was in his home in Al-Hamzah Al-Gharbi district, south of Hilla.

Babylon Police Information Director, Brigadier General Adel Al-Husseini, said, ‘A young man was hit in the head by gunfire from an unknown source while he was in the garden of his house in the Hamza Al-Gharbi district, south of Hila, on Thursday, which led to his immediate death.’

He added that the police transferred the body to the forensic medicine office and that an investigation was opened into the incident to determine the causes of death.

Royal Commission for Makkah to Launch ‘Makkah Greets Us’ in Hira Cultural District Thursday


Makkah: The Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites will launch the entertainment activities of the second edition of the ‘Makkah Greets Us’ event on Thursday, the second day of Eid Al-Fitr.

The event will take place in the Hira Cultural District, extending until Monday, April 15, the 6th of Shawwal, in cooperation with the Pilgrim Experience Program (PEP), the Holy Makkah Municipality, the Makkah Chamber, KIDANA development company, and ALBalad ALAmeen company.

The event includes various entertainment and cultural activities, including hosting the Revelation Exhibition, which presents the story of revelation and the descent of the Holy Quran.

The event also features the Road to Makkah exhibition, which highlights pilgrimage routes throughout history, as well as folk art performances such as poetic duelling, Taasheer, and Al-Majrour folk dance.

Makkah Greets Us welcomes visitors free of charge.

This time, the event is expected to attract over 15,000 visitors daily, promising them a unique and joy
ful experience during the blessed Eid al-Fitr.

Settlers build rooms west of Salfit


Today, Thursday, a group of settlers established rooms on citizens’ lands in the Al-Ras area, in Qarawat Bani Hassan, west of Salfit.

The mayor of Qarawat Bani Hassan, Ibrahim Assi, said: A group of settlers took advantage of the holiday days and built a number of rooms in the Al-Ras area, north of the town.

Assi explained that the occupation is chasing citizens in the Al-Ras area, confiscating their equipment, and preventing them from doing work on their lands, as many citizens were subjected to attacks, adding that the Israeli occupation is planning to seize the lands of that area and thus convert them to the benefit of the surrounding settlements

A military delegation discusses with Diyala’s military leaders the security conditions within areas of responsibility

A military delegation from the Ministry of Defense held an important meeting with the military leaders in Diyala operations to discuss the security conditions in the areas of responsibility.

A security source told the correspondent of the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that a high-ranking military delegation from the Ministry of Defense, headed by the Commander of the Ground Forces, arrived at the headquarters of the Diyala Operations Command and held a series of important meetings with military leaders to discuss the security conditions and measures taken to confront the challenges within the Al-Adhaim River Basin sector north of Baqubah. .

Municipalities Undersecretary: Mobile arboretum distributed 4,455 seedlings across Bahrain


Manama: The Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture launched a mobile arboretum initiative during Ramadhan to help raise environmental awareness and encourage citizens to participate in afforestation efforts.

The ministry, in cooperation with the Capital Municipal Council and municipal councils, distributed 4,455 seedlings to citizens and residents through this initiative across 14 areas throughout the kingdom’s governorates.

Shaikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, emphasised that the initiative, the first of its kind in Bahrain, aligns with the kingdom’s commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2060, as well as the national afforestation strategy

Security alert to secure religious shrines in Diyala
