Riyadh Region Municipality Launches its Development Arm “Remat Al-Riyadh Development Company” to Boost Municipal Services Sector, Improve Experience of Region’s Residents, Visitors

Riyadh– Prince Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin Ayyaf, Mayor of Riyadh, launched Remat Al-Riyadh Development Company, the development arm of the Riyadh Region Municipality, which will serve as the strategic enabler of private sector participation, with the aim of enhancing the quality of municipal services and contributing to the development of a vibrant community, while achieving economic and social development for Riyadh Region.

Remat Al-Riyadh Development Company will help bolster the municipality’s strategic function by supporting its operational roles in the region, enabling the private sector to implement and develop municipal projects, providing services to contribute to improving the quality of life, and providing direct value to residents and visitors of the region by prioritizing municipal services and and projects with the highest positive impact.

Commenting on the launch, Prince Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin Ayyaf, Mayor of Riyadh Region and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Remat Al-Riyadh Development Company, said that the Company will contribute to accelerating the development plans and projects of the Riyadh Region, and improving the lifestyle of its residents, as the region is bristling with exceptional and propitious housing and livelihood opportunities.

The Company will contribute to promoting this economic growth by involving the private sector in the municipal sector, as it aspires to be one of the largest municipal development companies.

The Company’s activities focus on three main sectors: urban development, municipal asset management, and municipal services. It will seek to enhance the quality of municipal services and projects, while improving customer experience and satisfaction.

Remat Al-Riyadh’s launch comes as a milestone towards fulfilling the overall strategy of the Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing, namely, to achieve sustainable and balanced urban development, and improve the level of municipal services, so as to contribute to the enhancement of the quality of life and prosperity of Saudi cities and bolster their preparedness to meet the ambitious aspirations of future generations.

Russia’s FM Meets with Permanent Delegates of AL Member Countries in Cairo

Cairo, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov underscored the importance of the Russian Arab relations and ways of enhancing them in all fields, disclosing that the sixth Arab Russian Cooperation Forum meeting at the foreign ministers level is in the offing.

This came during a speech Lavrov delivered before the protocol session of the Arab League Council held at the level of permanent delegates at the headquarters of the Arab League in the attendance of AL’s Secretary General Ahmed Abul-Ghait.

The Permanant Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Arab League Abdulrahman bin Saeed Al-Jumaa attended the meeting.

Addressing the gathering, Lavrov expressed gratitude of the interest of the Arab League in the situation in Ukraine, appreciating the balanced, just and responsible position the member countries of the AL took in this regard.

On the Palestinian cause, Russia’s minister called for reviving Al-Quds arrangement and solving the Palestinian crisis.

KSrelief’s Masam Project Dismantles 960 Mines in Yemen during One Week

Riyadh, King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) Project (Masam) for clearing mines in Yemen, dismantled, during the third week of July 2022, a total of 960 mines planted by the Houthi militia across Yemen, including 22 anti-personnel mines, 301 anti-tank mines and 637 unexploded ordnance.

Since the beginning of the project, as many as 251,381 mines have been dismantled.

Minister of Energy Discusses with Jordanian Ministers Ways to Develop Cooperation in Fields of Renewable Energy, Water and Irrigation

Mansour Al-Mushaiti met with a number of ministers from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, who are Minister of Water and Irrigation Eng. Mohammad Al-Najjar; Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Dr. Saleh Al-Kharabsheh; and Minister of Environment Dr. Muawieh Radaideh.

During the meeting, they discussed aspects of cooperation between the two countries in the fields of water, irrigation and renewable energy, and enhancing integration and cooperation in these vital areas in order to achieve the directives of the leaderships of the two countries, and the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples, through exchanging the experiences and discussing the best opportunities for joint cooperation.

Supported by KSrelief, More than 14,000 beneficiaries of Emergency Center for Epidemic Diseases Control in Hajjah in June

Hajjah, Yemen, Supported by King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), the Emergency Center for Epidemic Diseases Control in Hiran District, Hajjah Governorate, Yemen provided treatment services for 14,569 beneficiaries in the month of June 2022 AD.

The emergency clinic was visited by 1,409 patients, the internal clinic by 395, the epidemiology clinic by 2,737, the isolation services by 60, the laboratory department by 881, medicines were distributed to 4,513 individuals, the medical referral department was visited by 33 people, and the awareness and education department by 4,541. In the support services, 1,930 people benefited from the observation section, while 13 activities were carried out to dispose of waste.

Saudi Naval Forces His Majesty’s Ship “Al-Jubail” crew conclude training program in Spain

Madrid, Royal Saudi Naval Forces (RSNF) concluded in San Fernando, Spain, today, the training program for the crew of His Majesty’s Ship “Al-Jubail”, the first combat ship of the “Sarawat” project, which includes the manufacture and construction of five naval vessels with advanced capabilities to deal with various combat missions with high efficiency.

The training program comprised three main phases; the first phase started in the United Kingdom and lasted 46 weeks; to learn the English language, before moving to Spain, which hosted the second phase, where foundational and advanced courses were offered by the Spanish Navy and the University of Cádiz, in addition to courses in operation, maintenance and adaptation to the ship with the Spanish Navy and Navantia, the manufacture of Sarawat Ships project.

The last phase focused on the practical exercises at sea for the crews of “Al-Jubail”. The conclusion of the training program, which was held in the presence of RSNF Commander, Lieutenant-General Fahd bin Abdullah Al-Ghufaili, culminated in the implementation of His Majesty’s Ship “Al-Jubail” in the Spanish Naval Operations area in The Gulf of Cadiz, shooting exercise with missiles type (MICA) of the third version (Block 3), which is used to counter air attacks, and identify targets in a self-guided (Fire and forget) manner.

RSNF Commander expressed his pride in the crew of His Majesty’s Ship “Al-Jubail”, for their efficiency and competence in the stages of theoretical and practical training and qualification, as well as their high ability to fully operate the ship’s advanced systems, which culminated in the successful launch of the (MICA) missile and the direct hit and destruction of its target.

Al-Ghufaili indicated that the ship’s crew had completed all training stages and that the ship was in the process of being prepared to sail to Saudi Arabia to be the first ship to join the naval fleet from the “Sarawat” project, which contributes to raising the level of readiness of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces and enhancing maritime security in the region and protect the Kingdom’s vital and strategic interests.

The His Majesty’s Ship Al-Jubail (Corvette Avanti 2200) is the first ship of the Sarawat project, which was launched four months ago, and is the latest of its type in the world, with capabilities of handling the air, surface, or subsurface targets.

“Sarawat” project is part of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 programs; to localize 50% of the military industries.

More than 415,000 people benefit from KSrelief-implemented Nutrition Support Project for Children and Mothers in Yemen in June

Aden, Supported by King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), the nutrition support project for children under the age of five years old, pregnant and lactating mothers continued to provide its medical and nutritional services to beneficiaries in the governorates of Aden, Lahj, Taiz, Al-Hodeida, Hadhramaut, Hajjah, and Marib.

In June 2022, a total of 415,772 people benefited from the project’s services, as 80,325 children were screened, 5,606 people with severe acute malnutrition were treated, and 11,533 cases of moderate malnutrition were treated, in addition to providing medical services to 30,678 children to protect them from malnutrition.

Moreover, 38,975 pregnant and lactating mothers were screened, treatment services were provided to 8,451 cases, 42,733 women received IMCI services, and 169,782 patients benefited from awareness activities, in addition to 27,689 women benefited from the counseling services.

This comes within the relief and humanitarian efforts provided by the Kingdom, through the KSrelief, to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.

Ministry of Investment to organize Saudi-Kazakh Investment Forum tomorrow

Jeddah, The Ministry of Investment will organize the Saudi-Kazakh Investment Forum tomorrow in Jeddah, in the presence of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Minister of Investment Engineer Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih, and a number of government agencies and private sector officials from the two countries.

The forum’s activities include dialogue sessions to discuss the most promising investment sectors between the two countries in the fields of petrochemicals, renewable energy, water desalination, mining, and food security, in addition to reviewing the most prominent developments in the business environment in the Kingdom and major projects related to the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

The forum will include the signing of a number of agreements and memoranda of understanding between the two sides in a number of investment fields. Bilateral meetings will also be held between representatives of the private sector from both sides to discuss opportunities for cooperation and partnership and investment opportunities available to investors in the Kingdom and Kazakhstan.

It is noteworthy that the forum comes within the framework of the visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Kingdom aiming at strengthening cooperation in the economic and investment fields of common interest, as the two countries have close cooperation in all fields through a close relationship that extends for more than three decades.

KSrelief pumped more than 3 million liters of water in Hodeidah in June

Hodeidah, Yemen, King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has continued the implementation of the Water Supply and Environmental Sanitation Project in Al-Khokha District, Hodeidah Governorate, Yemen.

During the month of June 2022 AD, 1,575,000 liters of potable water and 1,575,000 liters of usable water were pumped, 120 shifts were carried out to remove waste from camps of the displaced, two hygiene campaigns and 54 sewage suction operations were carried out, and 120 bags were distributed for cleaning bathrooms. As many as 9,800 people benefited from these services.
