Supported by KSrelief, More than 14,000 beneficiaries of Emergency Center for Epidemic Diseases Control in Hajjah in June

Hajjah, Yemen, Supported by King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), the Emergency Center for Epidemic Diseases Control in Hiran District, Hajjah Governorate, Yemen provided treatment services for 14,569 beneficiaries in the month of June 2022 AD.

The emergency clinic was visited by 1,409 patients, the internal clinic by 395, the epidemiology clinic by 2,737, the isolation services by 60, the laboratory department by 881, medicines were distributed to 4,513 individuals, the medical referral department was visited by 33 people, and the awareness and education department by 4,541. In the support services, 1,930 people benefited from the observation section, while 13 activities were carried out to dispose of waste.

Saudi Naval Forces His Majesty’s Ship “Al-Jubail” crew conclude training program in Spain

Madrid, Royal Saudi Naval Forces (RSNF) concluded in San Fernando, Spain, today, the training program for the crew of His Majesty’s Ship “Al-Jubail”, the first combat ship of the “Sarawat” project, which includes the manufacture and construction of five naval vessels with advanced capabilities to deal with various combat missions with high efficiency.

The training program comprised three main phases; the first phase started in the United Kingdom and lasted 46 weeks; to learn the English language, before moving to Spain, which hosted the second phase, where foundational and advanced courses were offered by the Spanish Navy and the University of Cádiz, in addition to courses in operation, maintenance and adaptation to the ship with the Spanish Navy and Navantia, the manufacture of Sarawat Ships project.

The last phase focused on the practical exercises at sea for the crews of “Al-Jubail”. The conclusion of the training program, which was held in the presence of RSNF Commander, Lieutenant-General Fahd bin Abdullah Al-Ghufaili, culminated in the implementation of His Majesty’s Ship “Al-Jubail” in the Spanish Naval Operations area in The Gulf of Cadiz, shooting exercise with missiles type (MICA) of the third version (Block 3), which is used to counter air attacks, and identify targets in a self-guided (Fire and forget) manner.

RSNF Commander expressed his pride in the crew of His Majesty’s Ship “Al-Jubail”, for their efficiency and competence in the stages of theoretical and practical training and qualification, as well as their high ability to fully operate the ship’s advanced systems, which culminated in the successful launch of the (MICA) missile and the direct hit and destruction of its target.

Al-Ghufaili indicated that the ship’s crew had completed all training stages and that the ship was in the process of being prepared to sail to Saudi Arabia to be the first ship to join the naval fleet from the “Sarawat” project, which contributes to raising the level of readiness of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces and enhancing maritime security in the region and protect the Kingdom’s vital and strategic interests.

The His Majesty’s Ship Al-Jubail (Corvette Avanti 2200) is the first ship of the Sarawat project, which was launched four months ago, and is the latest of its type in the world, with capabilities of handling the air, surface, or subsurface targets.

“Sarawat” project is part of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 programs; to localize 50% of the military industries.

More than 415,000 people benefit from KSrelief-implemented Nutrition Support Project for Children and Mothers in Yemen in June

Aden, Supported by King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), the nutrition support project for children under the age of five years old, pregnant and lactating mothers continued to provide its medical and nutritional services to beneficiaries in the governorates of Aden, Lahj, Taiz, Al-Hodeida, Hadhramaut, Hajjah, and Marib.

In June 2022, a total of 415,772 people benefited from the project’s services, as 80,325 children were screened, 5,606 people with severe acute malnutrition were treated, and 11,533 cases of moderate malnutrition were treated, in addition to providing medical services to 30,678 children to protect them from malnutrition.

Moreover, 38,975 pregnant and lactating mothers were screened, treatment services were provided to 8,451 cases, 42,733 women received IMCI services, and 169,782 patients benefited from awareness activities, in addition to 27,689 women benefited from the counseling services.

This comes within the relief and humanitarian efforts provided by the Kingdom, through the KSrelief, to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.

More than 157,000 Pilgrims Arrive in Madinah

Madinah– A total of 157,550 pilgrims of different nationalities have arrived in Madinah after performing this year’s Hajj.

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah’ statistics on receiving and departing pilgrims in Madinah showed that 11,125 pilgrims have left Madinah through Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport and the Land Pilgrim Reception Center.

Statistics also showed that the number of pilgrims staying in Madinah until yesterday totaled 74,316 pilgrims.

Saudi Arabia’s Buraidah Participates in UNESCO Creative Cities Conference

Buraidah– Buraidah, the capital city of Qassim region which is located in the center of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and is far away about 350 km northwest of Riyadh has participated in the 14th annual conference of UNESCO Creative Cities Network, scheduled to be finished later today in the Brazilian city of Santos.

The city of Buraidah has registered its name as the first Gulf city and the second Arab city in culinary arts.

The participation aims to introduce the city of Buraidah and strengthen partnership with member cities to achieve the goals of UNESCO Creative Cities Network, work on exchanging experiences and discuss issues that promote sustainable development of cities in all branches of the Network.

The chief liaison officer for the city of Buraidah with UNESCO, Suleiman bin Ali Al-Qafari, said that the participation came under the directives and follow-up of Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Qassim region, and in response to the invitation addressed to the city of Buraidah by the NESCO Creative Cities Network.

It is worth mentioning that this participation comes after the announcement of the city of Buraidah joining the Creative Cities Network in November 2021 in the field of culinary arts, as 295 creative cities around the world were invited, representing 90 countries.

KSrelief distributes more than 74 tons of food baskets in Al-Hodeidah Governorate, Yemen

Al-Hodeidah, Yemen– King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) yesterday distributed 74 tons and 900 kilograms of food baskets to the neediest families in the districts of Al-Khokha and Hayes in Al-Hodeidah Governorate, benefiting 4,200 individuals.

This comes within the project to support food security for the year 2022 AD, being implemented by the center in Yemen and aiming to distribute more than 192,000 food baskets weighing more than 20,000 tons to needy and affected families in 15 Yemeni governorates.

Attempt to Smuggle Illegal Drugs Via Jeddah Port Foiled, Official Reports

Jeddah– Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZTCA) has successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle around 15 million Captagon drugs through Jeddah Islamic Port.

According to ZTCA, as much as 14,976,000 of Captagon tablets were found hidden in a commercial consignment coming from abroad via the port.

The report said that the smuggled quantity was found professionally hidden in a machine designed to manufacutre concrete blocs.

Accordingly, the authority notified the security authorities who, after strictly tracing the address of the single beneficiary, has apprehended him.

Makkah Police: Referring a Citizen to Public Prosecution After Transferring, Facilitating Entry of a (Non-Muslim) Journalist with U.S. National to Makkah by Passing through a Path Dedicated for Muslims only

Jeddah– The media spokesperson for the Makkah Police has stated that Makkah region’s police has referred a citizen to the Public Prosecution, who was a complicit in transferring and facilitating the entry of a (non-Muslim) journalist holds the citizenship of the United States of America to the holy city of Makkah by passing through a path dedicated for Muslims only in an explicit violation of the laws that prohibit entry to Makkah for non-Muslims.

Therefore, he was apprehended and legal action was taken against him.

The media spokesperson for the Makkah Police stressed that all those coming to the Kingdom must respect the laws and abide by their requirements, especially with regard to the Two Holy Mosques and holy sites, and that any violation of this kind is considered a crime that will not be tolerated and penalties will be applied to its perpetrators based on the relevant regulations.

The case of the journalist who committed the crime has been referred to the Public Prosecution to take the necessary procedures against him in accordance with the applied laws.

Qatar Stock Exchange Index Ends Trading Higher by 1.37%

Doha– The general index of the Qatar Stock Exchange ended trading higher today, gaining 171.540 points, or 1.37 %, to reach the level of 12,709.12 points.

The volume of traded shares amounted to 197,471,894, with a value of QAR 597,748,781, through executing 12,709 deals in all sectors.

In the session, the shares of 20 companies rose, while the prices of 23 other companies declined, while one company remained stable.

Transport General Authority Issues a Guide for Truck Drivers in Three Different Languages

Riyadh– The Transport General Authority has issued a guide for truck drivers on its website (tga.gov.sa) in three different languages: (Arabic – English – Urdu), which contains instructions on safety conditions that must be met and followed by truck drivers, necessary general requirements, instructions, and skills and rights for the driver.

The guide also illustrates the best ways to check the vehicle, know the dimensions and weights of the trucks per the Saudi standard specifications, and instructions for controlling, planning, and monitoring the vehicle while driving.

The 11-part guide aims to help truck drivers know the public safety requirements for professional and safe driving and emanates from the Transport General Authority’s efforts in facilitating access to the regulations of the authority and other relevant official bodies, and awareness of public safety requirements in transport vehicles while transporting non-dangerous goods between and within cities.

The guide represents a guiding framework for truck drivers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and includes a set of procedures and measures that the driver goes through during his trips, in addition to the obligations that he must be adhered to ensure a safe transportation journey, starting from the shipping site until reaching the destination. The guide can be downloaded via the website of the Transport General Authority (tga.gov.sa).
