Baghdad The Government of Japan congratulated the election of Abdul Latif Rashid as President of the Republic of Iraq.
The Japanese Embassy in Baghdad said in a statement: “The Government of Japan congratulates the election of Abdul Latif Rashid as President of the Republic of Iraq, and also welcomes the nomination of Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani as Prime Minister and assigning him to form the Council of Ministers on the same day based on the constitution of the Republic of Iraq.”
The Government of Japan called on all parties to cooperate with Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Shiaa al-Sudani in forming a new government.
It expressed her hope for the formation of a stable and inclusive government that addresses the challenges facing Iraq.
