KR Government: The meetings of our delegation in Baghdad achieved good results

Baghdad, The Kurdistan Regional Government announced that its delegation, which visited Baghdad, held important meetings that “brought good results,” indicating that “the delegation is awaiting reaching a common understanding with the federal government regarding the points of contention.”

The Kurdistan Regional Government said in a statement today, Monday, that the delegation held three “important meetings” yesterday and today, explaining that the first meeting was held with the Ministry of Oil and in which “the main principles of oil and gas law were discussed.”

It pointed out that the delegation “presented the views of the Kurdistan Regional Government regarding the draft law, after which those principles that will be included in the Iraqi oil law were discussed.”

It explained that the delegation held a meeting with the concerned authorities to formulate the last points in the Iraqi federal budget for the year 2023, and held “discussions on the main axes, and there was a common understanding in this regard,” and it also discussed “the points that should be included in the budget.”

The Kurdistan Regional Government indicated that its delegation visited the Federal Border Crossings Authority today to “discuss raising the level of coordination between the two sides regarding customs tariffs and strengthening cooperation between the two sides.”

It stressed that the meetings had achieved “good results,” adding that it was still waiting for “the points of disagreement now, with the aim of discussing them and reaching a common understanding on them.”
