Social Affairs and ILO discuss situation of Syrian workers in occupied Syrian Golan

Damascus-SANA- The Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor discussed, during a video-conference meeting with the Director of the Department of Meetings, Documents and Official Relations at the International Labor Organization (ILO), Frank Hagmann, the situation of workers in the occupied Arab territories, including the occupied Syrian Golan. Assistant Minister, Muhammad Firas al-Nabhan, presented the practices of the Zionist entity against workers in the occupied Syrian Golan, the types and rates of taxes imposed on them, and the most important decisions and agreements regarding their status.

Al-Nabhan stressed that the Israeli occupation continues its racist violations against workers, in addition to violating the decisions issued by the ILO General Conference in relation to condemning of the discrimination and violation of trade union freedoms in the occupied Arab territories.

He added that the next report must include the conditions of Syrian Arab workers in the occupied territories including all violations against them, explaining that the organisation will be provided with all related documents in order to expose these practices and adopt them as an official document in the next session of the Labor Conference for this year.

Hagmann, in turn, indicated the importance of promoting permanent communication to know the situation of workers in the occupied Syrian Golan, pointing out that the organisation will examine their status to find out the their conditions on the ground.
