Jeddah, Sep. 13, 2022, SPA — Special Envoy of the Peoples Republic of China’s Government on the Middle East Issues Zhai Jun confirmed that China is considered Arab countries leading trade partner over the past years, noting that the size of trade exchanges between the two sides reached in 2021 nearly $330 billion, an increae of 37 % on an annual base.
Jun said that Chinese Arab cooperation has made in the past years great strides in traditional fields, including energy, infrastructure, productive energy, and finance as well as in non-traditional fields including digital economy, the 5th generation, space, satelites, artificial intelligence and mega data.
This came during the opening session of the 3rd China-Arab States Forum on Reform and Development which was held virtually.
He said that the Global Development Initiative (GDI) pushes Chinese Arab relations to wider potentials.
He went to say that the GDI aims at drawing attention of the world society to issues of development, support of the global development corporates, enhance of international development cooperation, and acceleration of implementing the UN agenda for sustainable development 2030 in a way that pushes for a stronger green global development.
